The Hierophant in Hyper Light Drifter is located in the northern section of the map. He is a powerful wizard and comes with a whole host of tricks. This includes summoning a legion of birds and making the floor under your feet erupt. When even the ground is an unsafe place to be, you can see how this bird can be quite the handful.
While this fight can be a little overwhelming at first, once you have a better understanding of his attacks you may find that this bird will crack quite quickly. Thankfully, we 🍰have all the hints you need to help clear this encounter.First Phase Of The Fight
The Hierophant fight is best thought of in terms of its attack patterns. In this battle, the ground is composed of a giant 7x10 grid. The Hierophant will send a pattern that will seek you out. Even if the tile under your feet starts to emit light, you still have time to dash away and avoid damage. During the first phase of the ꦯfight, it is quite slow and easy to avoid.
Interspersed throughout the fight, The Hierophant will use different patterns. The attack patterns are an X and a cross shape. At the beginning of the battle, the shapes will💞 be small. However, as the battle progresses, they will get substantially bigger. The trail that follows you will also get substantially quicker in the second half of the fight.
How To Deal With The Minions
The Hierophant will also send four of his raven minions at you. Once they commit to attacking you, they will not veer in another direction. Which makes their charge attack relativౠely easy to avoid.
Thankfully, they can also be struck by the Hierophant’s attacks, which wil💝l instantly kill them. In the first half of the battle, you will probably want to deal with these minions directly. However, 🦩in the second half, when the spells have a wider range, they will probably be taken care of by the Hierophant himself.
Last Phase Of The Fight
In the second phase of the fighꦡt, the Hierophant will start sending vertical lines and horizontal lines that span the entire length of the arena. These lines come in pretty fast and furious. You are going to have to move quickly to avoid being tagged. But they are, thankfully, pretty predictable.
At this point, you are going to want to stick pretty closely to the Hierophant so that you can tag them whenever a gap provides itself. When the boss teleports away, follow them closely. If you are patient, you should be able to score a hit or two after every spell they cast. It won't be long until the Hierophaꦕnt's goose is cooked.
