Creating a new battle royale game like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hyper Scape is no easy task, but the team at Ubisoft Montreal has a strong start thanks to the team of veterans who worked on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rainbow Six Siege. Senior Producer Graeme Jennings with PCGamesN and described the work on Seige as a big benefit for Hyper Scape, because “We started from the Siege Technology base…which game us something to build on, and the𝄹n we scaled that tech to accommodate 100 players on a 1x1 kilometre map.”
This expanded as well to the back end, particularly with regards to how servers run for everything from daily play to release of content patches. Jennings goes on to say that, “Rainbow Six Siege is smaller in terms of multiplayer because it’s ten players… So we were able to get plenty of learnings from them in 🌃terms of how to run the servers well…which has really helped us build the foundation.”
So far, Hyper Scape is receiving positive reviews by those who have played the newest battle royale. Interestingly, the release of a game into the genre by Ubisoft makes more sense now compared to only a year and a half ago. In early 2019, Rainbow Six Siege Creative Director Xavier Marqꩵuis spoke about the fourth year of development for the game, and when asked about the possibility of creating a battle royale mode there, was quite adamant in 🙈:
“No, I am not interested at all in a battle royale. The genre is doing a nice job but it’s not Siege. The equation of Siege comes from reality, like real CQB operations; it’s always a group trained to defend a specific place and an intervening group trained to intimidate and defeꦇat the threat. This is the equation of Siege. I think the battle royale genre is too much of a stretch and I’m not su🅠re it will be a plus for the game. So, we’ll try different things but no.”
Looking back, we wonder if the statement was in fact true or merely the message given to the team, since another battle royal was in the works. The real question now is whether Hyper Scape can compete in what the most saturated and competitive gaming genre in the industry. The sci-fi feel and futuristic settings are wonderful to see, but competitors like Fortnite, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty: Warzone, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Apex Legends are consta🅘ntly wor𒁏king to keep their players engaged.
Warzone had great initial success thanks to innovations in gameplay like the Gulag and loadouts that were related to progression in Modern Warfare, whereas Hyper Scape seems to lack a key feature to make it stand out in the genre. One could argue that upꦇgrading weapons over the course of a match is that feature, but even that feels like other games, where looting items and defeated players has the same power creep towards the end of a match.
