I’m trying to squeeze as much into my schedule as I can, despite needing to juggle other responsibilities and games on the side. There are a number of factors that make this easy, one being that personal orders are surprisingly fast to complete – very often, it takes me only a mission or two to fulfil the conditions and get a small pile of medals as ൲a reward. I 𒉰can dip in each day, play a few matches, and feel like I’ve achieved something.

Another factor is that it’s fun as hell to play with friends, and I’ve be💜en pitching Helldivers 2 to them at every social event I’ve been to in the last week. I’ve managed to convince at least two people to buy it and start playing with me. More friends to play with, even if just for a f🐼ew missions a day, means more incentives to keep logging in.

I am 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:prepared to carry them through their first few missions, if necessary.

But most importantly, Arrowhead is constantly giving me reasons to pitch in to the war effort. Players regularly receive instructions to focus their efforts on new planets and regions, and we know that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:failure has consequences. When I saw 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the order to liberate Tien Kwan alongside widespread speculation that control of the planet would unlock mechs, I logged in at the next possible opportunity. I didn’t do it because I 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:desperately wanted to pilot a mech, though it sounded cool. I did it because I wanted us all to get mechs, and I wanted to be part of the story that Arrowhead is creating in collaboration with its ꦇplayer🐎s.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tien Kwan was liberated in reꦍcord time, and mechs were made available as a free stratagem to all players for the weekend. Of course, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this led to another server jam, which I managed to avoid because I live in Asia and play at off-peak hours. I managed to spend quite a bit of time playing around with the mechs, and quickly learned that, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:like many players, I hate them just as much as I love them.

If Helldivers 2 has an omniscient god that decides if we win or lose, is therไe ⛎a point to any of this?

The EXO-45 Patriot exosuit is a walker with rockets and a minigun. You get one per mission, two if you’re lucky. They are extraordinarily efficient at mowing down groups of bugs, especially if you tackle breaches from a distance, since a well-aimed rocket and a spray of bullets is more than enough to handle swarms at lower difficulties. They’re fairly effective against Chargers, but these mechs move slowly, so don’t expect to be sprinting away from one of those big boys – you have to face them head on. You get 14 rockets and 1,000 minigun bullets, which is enough to do some real damꦕage, especially considering that the weapons are fairly accurate for what’s essentially a mobile turret. Also, you can crush bugs underfoot.

But these exosuits have plenty of flaws. Despite the stratagem describing the mech as being “heavily armoured”, so much as looking at a suit can make it explode. My first mech exploded for seemingly no reason after I exited it and reentered, and it flung my mutilated corpse across the map. It’s practically useless against Auto▨matons since it can tolerate very little sustained gunfire, and it’ll blow up if it takes enough damage. If you get hit by an Automaton rocket or even shoot your own at close-range, you’re probably done for.

You don&rsquo💛;t get much notice be🦩fore these suits blow up. If it starts smoking, get out and run.

You also can’t resupply your mechs with ammo, which is a pain, since you only get one or two a mission. Also, it takes a lot of work to be able to unlock this stratagem at all – you have to be at level 25, and it costs 20,000 requisition slips. That’s not unfeasible if you play a lot, but more casual players like me are likely to have to work veryꦿ hard to have access to these monsters now the free trial has come to a close. Let’s just say I am not close at all to unlocking🤡 these glass cannons.

This is, of course, all by design. If the mechs were unlockable at lower levels, the game would be way too easy. If they had infinite ammo and didn’t blow up constantly, there’d be no reason to ever leave the suit. The mechs are a tool in your kit with weaknesses and strengths, and they give you ways to both massacre your enemies and die in silly ways. I get all that. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t yell at my TV every single ti💃me my mech blew up with me inside it. It also doesn’t mean that I managed to keep my cool the first time I pitted my mech against the Automatons.

Will I still be working towards unlocking this piece of equipment? Yes. It has its perks, after all. But like every Helldivers 2 weapon, there are reasons to love♕ it and reasons to hate it. I really should have expected the mechs to frustrate me this much.

Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it's up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.
