Icarus is a session-based survival game that is packed with dangerous elements that can you wipe you out if you don't have much experience. As you play, you will need to pay attention to your own health, wild animals around you, and natural weather events. Dying is part of the learning process, but we are here to make each session a little less stressful.

In this guide, we are going to go over some beginner tips to help you get started in Icarus. Because this is for beginners, we are going to focus on the area that you will land in for the first few missions. First, let's take a look at the mission timer.

The Mission Timer Is In Real-Time

One of the most important things you will need to keep in mind is the in-game timer. During your first few missions, the timer will start at around six days. The timer is in real-time; the six days are real days. This 🐷means that if you play on a Friday with the🥂 timer at six days and play again on Sunday, the timer will be at four days.

This is important to keep in mind if you have a busy schedule and can't make time to play a new mission. Prior to starting, be sure to look at the time limit; if it doesn't fit with your schedule, consider waiting. Oftentimes, the time limit may offer you more time than it takes to complete the mission. If this is the cas🤪e, you can comfortably do the mission in a few days w𓆉ithout needing to worry about your real life interfering with the game.

Gather Everything

As you run around Icarus, you will be able to gather a variety of different items, ranging from flowers andꦑ berries to iron and 💎bones.

Almost every activity will reward you with experience. This means that, as you run through a forest, you can easily gather fiber, sticks, and berries to earn experience.

Additionally, it's great to have a backup supply of resources on hand. Once you unlock the blueprint for storage 💟chests, you can place any important items inside. If you end up dying, you will have backup supplies ready ꦜfor you.

Basic Tools Are A Must

Although you are essentially an astronaut, you will need to start with the basics, such as stone and wooden tools. Eventually, you will be able to unlock more advanced tools, but at the start of the game, don't forget to craft your basic tools.

You will be able to complete many missions with just a set of simple tools. These tools do not require too m𝐆any resources to craft and can get the job done. Additionally, you can easily repair basic tools with wood or stone.

Craft Armor

After leveling up, you will have the opportunity to unlock several armor types. Armor may seem unnecessary, but it shouldn't be underestimated. Armor can provide you with buffs, including protection from the weather and a s🎶peed bonus.

Speed is pretty important in Icarus, considering you will spend the majority of your time running around. With the full cloth armor set, you will receive a five percent speed bonus. Co꧂mbined with speed boosts from skill points, this is a g🐲ood investment.

Settle Near Your Shuttle

Icarus is huge, with plenty of land to settle on. During your first few missions, try to settle near the shuttle that you land in. This area can have dangerous animals, but they won't be anything that you can't handle.

If you die with no respawn point set (using a bedroll) and nobody to save you, you will respawn at a random spot. More often than not, this 'random' spot is near your shuttle. Since you have settled near the shuttle, it won't be long until you make it back.

Don't Forget About Basic Necessities

Basic necessities include oxygen, hunger, and thirst levels. You should immediately prioritize these when you first land on Icarus. Let's talk about each one of these necessities below.

Oxygen

Icarus may look similar to Earth, but the atmosphere is unsafe for you to breathe. To combat this, you will have an oxygen tank that needs continuous refilling. This can be done with raw oxite, as well as with an oxidizer. For more information, be sure to check out our guide on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:how to get more oxygen.

Hunger

To replenish your hunger, you can hunt for creatures, as ❀well as harvest fruits and vegetables that grow around Icarus🦋.

Berries are a great source of food; they grow pretty much everywhere and can easily be gathered. After you craft a campfire, you will be able to cook meats, along with other foods.

Thirst

Thirst is fairly simple to manage; all you need to do is drink water from any water source, such as a lake or stream. Doing so will fill your thirst meter, but you may risk contracting a disease, such as dyse🎐ntery. This status effect will eventually disappear, but it can cause damage if you are alre🦩ady running low on health.

Through the tech tree, you will eventually be 🀅able to unlock items that produce clean wa💖ter.

Large Bases Aren't Important

The main aspect of many survival games is base building. In Icarus though, no structure is permanent. When the mission ends, you will return to space, leaving everything behind. This means that any large bases 🍌you build will disappear.

Because of this, you do not need to prioritize a grand base that looks good. It's perfectly acceptable to have a small hut that only holds a few important items, such as chests, a bedroll, and a place to cook food.

Shelter From The Storm

Storms will begin to occur shortly after you land on Icarus. These storms can range from light rain to intense and destructive thunderstorms. Although it's not important to make a large base, you will still need protection from the elements. Below, you can check out some of our recommendations for shelter options.

  • Build a small and sturdy hut to hold you and your belongings during a storm.
  • Settle in an empty cave. You can find caves around cliffs; just be sure there are no cave worms inside.
  • Hollow out a large rock (with a pickaxe) and settle inside. Rocks are sturdy and can hold you along with a bedroll and campfire.

Running Away Is Okay

The creatures that you encounter during a mission can be scary; sometimes, they can be up to 20 levels higher than you. If you encounter a dangerous creature that is too strong for you, it's okay to run away. In stealth mode, creatures won't immediately see you. This will give you a window of opportunity to leave without being spotted.

Although killing a large creature will give you a lot of experience, it's safer to avoid them and not risk death.

Now, you should know about the basics of Icarus. Get out there and start exp🧜loring!
