The only two id titles that tick all the boxes here are Doom and Quake. Well, there's also Rage, but the developers would be kidding themselves if they consider it iconic. Doom Eternal's latest story DLC seems to have brought the Doom Slayer's story to an end, at least for now, so if we had to speculate, the most probable answer here is Quake. Who knows? Maybe they finally got tired of all the "QuakeCon without a Quake game" jokes.
Reading into the details of the Skybox Artist position, we can see that they would be responsible for "the visualization and implementation of AAA quality sci-fi and fantasy environmental vistas and skyboxes." Another hint pointing to Quake.
