The contest, which is in collaboration with singer-songwriter Mxmtoon, asks fans to create their own patch, much like the protagonist of the game, Alex Chen, wears herself.
Square Enix announced the contest on the game’s through a short video by Mxmtoon, who provides the singing voice for Alex Chen in the game. In the video, shared that the contest is looking for patches from fans that show off their personality and then shared the three patches she designed. Her own designs included a lightbulb inspired by he⛦r cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” for the game, a signature ukulele modeled after the one she plays on stage, and a constellation patch that represents her celestial-inspired EPs.
The contest, which is only open to those 18 years of age or older, requires participants to design a unique patch that will be sewed onto a jacket. Then, the patch needs to be posted on Instagram along with a caption that describes the inspiration behind the design. Be sure to include the hashtags #ShowYourTrueColo♑rs and #Contest to enter. The contest will run from September 7 to 14, and one grand prize winner will be selected along with three runners-up. You can check out the official rules .
The luckꦛy winner of the grand prize will receive a gift voucher for the Square Enix online store for $138, a Mxmtoon signature concert ukulele, a copy of Life Is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition, and a custom painted Nacon Rig 500 Pro gaming headset. On top of all that, the patch design will be brought to life and sewn onto a unique jacket that will then be auctioned off in a prize draw to support charity.
Meanwhile, the three runners-up🍒 will each receive a digital copy of Life Is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition for the console of their choice. The winners will be notified around the beginning of October.
