She's easily replaceable by the likes of Ima and Petronella due to her low attack and her relatively weak defense skills. She also has some pretty below-average utilities, even though that's her whole game. Ultimately, her spells aren't the best and she's easily replaceable, that and her most powerful weapon seems to be more of a grind than any other.

When it comes to power, Rook is one of the best ones to go for. They are versatil⛎e and will prevail in pretty much any situation you put them in. Not only that but they have the ability to buff the entire team by boosting their movement.
Ultimately, Rook is a wonderfully balanced player filled with a good defense, offense, and utility. The only problem is their skills just don't keep up with the rest of the characters. In the second half of the game, they do slack a bit, that doesn't make them terrible though, as they still prove useful.
2 Gilda
Gilda is an MVP for most people. She has one of the strongest spells in the game, Beam, and still has some boost and utility spells that rival that of bosses. She excels in concent𝄹rated damage and area damage with the wonder that is Bꦯeam.
As for the utility spells she has teleport which ♎does have a cooldown but is really just a gamechanger, especially if you find your characters in a sticky position.
Ultimately, she will be the one you keep until the end of the game. She'll remain one of the most powerful characters in the game and will never fail to impress.
1 Maritte
It may come as a surprise for some since most characters you pick up at the start are relatively weak but at the end of the day, Maritte is the protagonist so it only makes sense she's the most powerful and the best. She has a wonderful personality and story arc, as well as being one of the strongest characters you'll have. She has a motivate skill that can stack with other power buffs and is just perfect for a tough battle.
She does good area damage and has the capability to make her flare skill do upwards of 50 damage to a single target if you use the proper gear and buffs. That sort of damage means that she's such a force to be reckoned with that she, more often than not, one-shots enemies.
