We’ve hit the midway point of the spooky sea💃son. Horror titles still unsurprisingly reign supreme, but there are plenty of other genres for indie fans to check out, ranging in everythi🐼ng from platformers and roguelites to golfing games and more.

Critadel - October 12 (PC, Switch)
Critadel – from developer Pixelian Studio – is a platformer/shooter/roguelite that puts you in the shoes of one of three characters as they explore hundreds of branching pa🐼ths 🐭while overcoming deadly obstacles and destroying futuristic enemies. The game also boasts over 100,000 weapon configurations, so you’ll never be lacking when it comes to items and upgrades. Critadel is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
A Little Golf Journey - October 14 (PC, Switch)
Indie gold games are a dime a dozen these days, which means developers have to up their 🔜game to make their title stand o💟ut from the rest of the genre. Developer Okidokico’s A Little Golf Journey does exactly that with relaxing and wholesome golf gameplay that takes place across in whimsical settings across different worlds. Going out of bounds is alright in this golf title, and, in fact, often rewards you with hidden secrets and unlockables. A Little Golf Journey releases on October 14 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Chasing Static - October 14 (PC)
If it’s nostalgia you’re after this week, look no further than Headware Games’ Chasing Static – a psychological horror short in which you’ll be investigating the disappearance of residents from a small, rural village. The PS1 aesthetics are sure to give you a soaring sense of nostalꦡgia as you explore the dark and abandoned town in the game that is inspired by “80’s Sci-Fi horror and contemporary surrealist cinema.” Chasing Static will launch on October 14 for PC via Steam.
The Riftbreaker - October 14 (PC)
From EXOR Studios comes The Riftbreaker – “a base-building survival game with action-RPG elements.” You’ll take on the role of a scientist/commando on a mission to expand Earth’🎃s colonization to the far reaches of the galaxy. Your mecha-suit is capable of interdimensional rift travel, allowing you to explore the planet of Galatea 37 as you extract resources and stave off 🌌alien attackers. The Riftbreaker will be released on October 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. A free-to-play demo for the game is available now on Steam.
The Good Life - October 15 (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)
The Good Life – from developer White Owls Inc. – is self-described as a “debt repayme𒊎nt RPG” where you’ll work to solve a murder mystery in the "happiest town in the world", Rainy Woods. When the sun sets, the residents of Rainy Woods mysteriously turn into cats and dogs, putting a different kind of spin on this detective adventure. The Good Life will be released on October 15 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A free-to-play demo for the game is currently available on Steam.
