We’re in the final full week of J♍anuary, and the indie gaming scene certainly seems to be going out with a bang with a slew of titles that you’re sur🔯e to enjoy this weekend.
Here are our picks for this week in indie games, January 2♛4 - January 30ꦍ.
Cyber Shadow - January 26 (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)
Kicking off this week’s list is an incredible game from the publisher of the Sho🌼vel Knight series, Yacht Club Games. Cyber Shadow - developed by Mechanical Head Studios - puts you in the shoes of a cyborg ninja as he attempts to rescue his clan from the menacing synthetic beings that have taken over Mekacity. I gave the 2D action platformer a 4.5 out of 5 Stars due to its smooth platforming, ওmemorable bosses, and overall fun factor. is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox On💙e, and Nintendo Switch.
Encodya - January 29 (PC)
The cyberpunk genre remains alive and well in 2021, taking us to a dystopian Germany in Encodya, from developer Chaosmonger Studio. With an art style described as “Blade Runner meets Studio Ghibli”, you’ll play as a little girl named Tina, who is accompanied by her m☂assive robot guardian SAM-53, as they navigate the streets of Neo-Berlin in this point-and-click adventure. Encodya is available now on PC via .
Olija - January 28 (PC)
Developed by Skeleton Crew Studio🅘, Olija🍃 is a game about a man shipwrecked in the mysterious country of Terraphage. Armed only with a legendary harpoon, his only goal is to leave the hostile island to return to home. Olija is releasing for , P♑S4, Xbox One🃏, and Nintendo Switch on January 28.
Golden Force - January 28 (PS4, Switch)
In Golden Fཧorce - developed by Storybird Games - you’ll take on the role of one of four playable characters as they try to put an end to The King of Demons’ plans to take over the former paradise of Muscle Island. A high difficulty awaits you in Golden Force (speaking from personal experience, as I am currently in the middle of reviewing the game).
