Insomniac Games is remaining mostly quiet about allegations of sexual ass﷽ault from 𓆏multiple current and former employees.
The #MeToo era continues in the games industry. No sooner do we have allegations against famed Dying Light 2 writer Chris Avellone come to 💎light than we get this blockbuster story from a former employee at Insomniac Games.
Sol Brenn🍎an was a🍸 technical director at Insomniac from 2016-2020. Sol posted a harrowing tale on Twitter earlier this week--a full 25 posts long--that starts off with depression and contemplation of suicide.
"I have a list in the double digits of women who were harmed by the actions of thiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚs company--some so much so that they ♑declined to speak about it to me at all," . "Insomniac has throttled careers of great women, left them no option but to 'resign' and protected sexual predators."
Sol recounted knowing of at least three sexual predators that assaulted multiple women at Insomniac. One was eventually fired after his behavior became so dangerous that management couldn't ignore it any longer, while another still works at the studio꧟.
One, a former HR recruiter named Edgar Vargas, pursued Sol𝐆 relentlessly after being told on multiple occasions that they were happily partnered. Sol is non-binary but lived as a woman while working🌄 at Insomniac.
After finally convincing Vargas to back off, Brennan watched as Vargas went on to assault multiple young women at the company, eventually leading to his termination. "This is just the tip of the iceberg," Brennan wrote. "I have so many more incidents𝓡 that broke me down over time.
Another former Insomniac employee, , responded to Sol's posts writing, "I'm one of those women and I'm still suffering from my time there." , a 3D character artist that worked on creating the model for Spider-Man, confirmed that "all of this is true, and it sucks𝐆 that it has to be said."
to say that they are "aware of the allegations made in a former employee's tweets" and "had taken numeroဣus steps to address them." However the company said they would not offer further details "for legal and privacy reasons.
"We are a workplace family that has a💦ctively promoted diversity, inclusion, representation and equality for our entire existence. We wil🐠l continue to do so every single day."
