Spin Master and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Riot Games have released the first wave of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:League of Legends Champion Collection figurines, bringing hyper-realistic 4-inch and 6-inch figures 🧸to fans’ desks and display shelves. The collection – which features a multipack of champions, along with separately sold characters – is available now, and is a must-have addition to any League of Legends fan’s collection.
I recently asked Spin Master’s VP of Marketing and Boys Global Business Unit Lead, Adam Hyman, about its collaboration with Riot Games and what went into selecting the chamౠpions from the 140+ roster that were made into figures f💮or the initial release.
"Our dream would be to make figures for the entire roster of champions, but to start we worked with our partners at Riot to identify the most popular champions globally and selected from that list for our first wave at launch. We wanted to deliver to fans their favorite champions in act🍒ion🔜 figure form, bringing the excitement of the renowned game to the toy aisle.”
Of course, giving video game characters the physical treatment comes with a lot of pressure to create high-quality pieces – something of which Riot 🐲Games and Spin Master were both well aware.
“At its core, League of Legends is all about authenticity and that is exactly what we wanted to show through our product,“ Hyman tells me. “High quality, extreme level of detail, pr🅷emium finishes and washes were all a top priority. We want it to feel that these champions jumped out of the game and onto a fan’s desk. We leveraged Riot’s wide library of character art to ensure our figures were identical, true-to-game replicas of their digital counterparts.”
Being true-to-game is especi🌌ally important with a community as steadfast as League of Legends, with the Champion Collection coming a🌳s a highly anticipated product by the fans.
“This collection is a love letter to the fans, so 𒉰we take community feedback to heart. Our figures are unique, a first of a kind for League 𝓀of Legends fans, and it’s been met with a lot of excitement, and we expect even more now that product is sitting in-store.”
“The lore is absolutely an integral piece that goes into developing these toys,” Hyman added. “It impacts our product, packaging, and marketing. Our packaging was influenced by champion regions, hextech artwork, and crystal shapes. For our 5-pack of 4-inch scale figures we worked with Riot to tie closely to their all-new animated series ARCANE. We want to bring the excitement of the world of League of Legends to life and stay true to each🐼 of the champions. The teams at Riot are such amazing storytellers, and we want to extend that experience with our product.”
Speaking of storytelling, the team worked with renown𒐪ed toy photographers, Mitchel Wu and Jax Navarro to truly bring the c꧂haracters (and marketing assets) to life.
“It was exciting to see our products come to life with their photography. It was important for us to show each of the champion’s personalities and unique stories, and we really feel that Mitchel and Jax nailed it. They were not previously League of Legends players but dove into the lore researching the nuances of the world of League of Legends. In colla𝐆boration with the team at Riot, the final photography stays true to the authenticity of the champions, the world of Runeterra and portrays the incredible details of the toys.”
In a recent press release, Spin Master's President of Toys and Chief Commercial Officer Chris Beardall stated that “...this is just the beginning” for the League of Legends IP. It would be easy to give more champions from the roster the physical treatment, but I wondered if there may be any plans to expand beyond just the figurines, such as arena playsets and the like.
“This really is just the beginning!” Hyman exclaimed. “There is a lot more to expect from Spin Master with League of Legends. We are able to leverage our company’s history of toy innovation as well as our expertise across multiple categories to create best-in-class product. We can’t share too much at this time, but let’s just say futureꦉ🍰 product will look to grow our selection of champion figures and even expand into other types of toys.”
With the successful launch of its first wave of toys, the sky's the limit for Spin Master and Riot Games as they continue to work together on future releases, which will coincide with the in-game/lore happenings of League of Legends.
