The comic book writer also explained why he and Skybound opted for the crowdfunding route to help bring Invincible's first proper video game to life.

Even though Invincible has been around for more than two decades in comic book form, the series and its blue and yellow hero shot to new levels of fame when the comics were adapted for TV and season one debuted on Amazon Prime in 2021. Why Skybound went with the crowdfunding route for Invincible Vs

Another 18 months after that, Skybound started crowdfun🙈ding for a triple-A I🏅nvincible game. TheGamer caught up with Kirkman during San Diego Comic-Con, who confirmed to us that Invincible Vs is the triple-A game Skybound crowfunded for. The comic book creator explained that Skybound decided to crowdfund for the project so that the company could be more "hands-on" with its first big Invincible game than it was with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Walking Dead.

"The crowdfunding was really about making sure that Skybound can be more hands-on," Kirkman explained. "That fundraising situation was about being able to make sure that we are able to do these in-house games and have that hands-on approach." Skybound let other companies, 🌠such as Warner Bros, take the publishing reins for its Walking Dead games. Even though it has opted to keep things under its own roof for Invincible Vs, Kirk🐼man assured fans that it hasn't affected the scope of the game.

Kirkman also noted that he hopes this is just the beginning when it com𝔉es to Invincible video games, labeling its upcoming fighter a "proof of concept". Kirkman said he and Skybound are aiming to "steer the destiny of Invincible in the game space in a much more controlled and c𝓰urated way than we were able to do with The Walking Dead."

The Walking Dead enjoyed a lot of success in the video game space via its Telltale series, but ultimately, Skybound wasn't in control of its gaming destiny. That isn't going to be the case with Invincible, and even though a fighting game might not be what some of you were hoping this crowdfunded project was going to be, it sounds like, if all goes to plan, there's a lot more to come.
