How They Play

First and foremost they use a pistol, so they can get more rounds off and they have a toolkit full of useful equipment that can turn their squad into an efficient fighting force on the frontlines.
The two strongest items in their arsenal are the Flare Gun and the Binoculars. The Flares can be used to mark positions for artillery, airstrikes, gas, reconnaissance, and more, whilst the Binoculars highlight enemy positions o🦩n the battlefield like a scanner. Used in combination and they can be extremely helpful in the battlefield𓂃 and that’s not including their other ability to force instant spawns for a limited time. All in all, a very useful role.

The Officers Loadout
The Officer's loadout is by far one of the most varied in the game. There are a lot of toys in that box to play with and depending on how you use them it can make all the difference to the war effort.
To keep them safe they have access to a nice selection of pistols, some of which are better than others. For example, revolvers have more stopping power, but semi-automatics are quicker to reload and have more rounds. They also have access to flares to call in strikes and binoculars to spot enemy troops for their teammates. Finally, they have a bunch of great buffs that help with spawning such as allowing other Squad Leaders t𒀰o revi♊ve on your position or the ability to spawn yourself on any soldier near the objective.
The Call-In System
If you’re playing as an Officer the Fla🍃re and Call-In system is something you definitely should be making yourself familiar with as soon as you possibly can. There’s a lot of help you can provide on the battlefield aside from organizing a small squad of soldiers, and it can be𒐪 a little overwhelming if you’re diving right into the deep end. So to help you transition into a leadership role a little easier, here are some officer tips for beginners.
Stay Alive
Whilst Officers are pretty handy on the frontlines, you shouldn’t wander off too far. As a Squad Leader you’re essentially a mobile spawn point and in tough fights. Being able to constantly spawn your teammates from a tactical position can sometimes m🌊ean the difference between a successful push and another stalemate.
As you’re wandering around on the field of battle, there should be a little timer at the bottom of your screen. Over time this number goes up and it denotes the number of reinforcements that are about to spawn on you at any given moment before it resets and starts over. Also, it only takes a few seconds for it to reach its cap. So if you can find a spot to 🥀sit your squad can become pretty relentless.
Get The Binoculars Out Often
If you have a minute to lean behind cover in Isonzo, you have time to break out those Binoculars. It costs nothing to use. To spot units, you hold down꧒ the obserꦛve button as you scan back and forth across nearby terrain.
Anyone on the enemy team that’s seen within your sight will be instantly marked to the rest of your team and it can be quite effective having someone just scan back and forth for a few minutes. It’s also much quicker than calling in a recon plane and you get a small amount of experience for every target spotted. So 𓄧there’s no reason to not break out the Binoculars a🌼s often as you can.
Use The Mini Map
The minimap is handy for checking the state of the frontlines with a glance, but in the hands of the Officer, it becomes much more useful. It turns from a useful GPS into a highly deadly piece of kit.
For starters, Officers can draw on their minimap as a way to issue orders to their Squad. Which, on the fly, can be a lot easier than having to describe where you want your crew to go. Plus, combined with its ability to help you fire flaꦉres onto land you can’t see, the mini-map has a lot more uses than just a fancy sat nav.
Remember To Issue Orders
As an Officer, you have access to a unique order ability. Whilst there’s not a massive selection, the two commands you do have 🌱access to should be used as oꦚften as you can as they’re both highly beneficial.
The first is Attack, this orders anyone nearby to attack a point and if anyone listens and follows those orders you’ll get a nice XP boost for any trooper that does. The other command is Charge, this one is perhaps your strongest ability as it removes the timing on spawns temporarily for a short while. Timed right it can lead t✃o some pretty well-placed Zerg rushes on Capture Points andꦫ key enemy positions.
Stay With The Group
The time to kill in Isonzo is extremely high and it’s easy to get picked off by a stray round, especially in a massed charge when the bullets are going to be constantly flying. So knowing where to stand can make a difference. Ideally, it should be somew🥂here behind a big g💙roup of soldiers.
It may sound cowardly, but if you’re playing as an Officer it makes sense to let the other soldiers charge ahead. Letting a push build more bodies not only means having more players to provide a better chance for capturing land, but it also means more meat shields between you and the enemy team's bullets. With how haphazardly some players fling themselves into the fight like heavily armed Lemmings, it’s a tactic that you shouldn’t feel too bad about using.
Get The Spawning Buffs
If you want to be an effective Officer in Isonzo then you need to work on unlocking their buffs. There are a couple of them to choose from and they get more useful and stronger as you level up𒅌 🗹this particular class.
For starters, the Frontline Officer buff allows Squad Leaders to spawn on you and vice versa. Then there’s the much more useful Alpine Officer unlock which lets you revive on any player near the objectives. This is incredibly powerful as you can drop yourself then a full Squad if your crew got wiped on any friendly player at any point. Or if you’re hanging aroun🦂d the back lines there’s also Engineer Officer, which doubles constructꦬion and sabotage speed for nearby friendly Engineers.
