Jack Black is set to star in yet another big video game movie adaptation, as it's being reported that the actor will play Steve in the upcoming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Minecraft movie.
According to , production on the Minecraft movie is getting underway ahead of its planned release date of April 4, 2025, with sources claiming that Jack Black is set to star as the one and only Steve. Black is now the second high-profile actor to be included as part of the production, with Aquaman star Jason Momoa already confirmed as the ♔leading ro𒉰le.
Even though we're only a little over a year out from it actually releasing, we still don't know what the plot of the Minecraft movie will be or what role Black will play as Steve. We know that it's supposedly live-action rather than fully animated, and that the movie will feature a young girl and her group of pals who go on an adventure to stop the Ender Dragon, according to IMDB.
We also know that Wednesday star Emma Myers will be playing an unknown role in the movie, as will Peacemaker star Danielle Brooks and Sebastain Eugene Hansen, who will supposedly play characters called Dawn and Henry respectively. That's about all the information we have on the movie at the moment as things are being kept under wraps, though Jack Black's involvement does make things a little more interesting.
Hopefully, we'll actually get a look at the Minecraft movie sooner rather than later, as it's a little odd to know absolutely nothing about a movie a little over a year away from release. It's possible we could see a first trailer appear during one of this year's big gaming events, similar to how the Super Mario Bros. Movie and Rebel Moon were revealed, though Warner Bros. could just choose to do its own thing given the pedigree of the game that's being adapted.
With this news, Black has added yet another video game adaptation to his long list of projects, having previously voiced Bowser in the Super Mario Bros. Movie. He's also set to play Claptrap in the Borderlands movie that is supposed to be releasing on August 9, though we've had very little in the way of official updates regarding how it's been doing over the last couple of years.
In any case, if there's one non-Nintendo title that could potentially dethrone the Super Mario Bros. Movie as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the king of video game adaptations, then it'll be Minecraft.
