Avatar: The Way of Water is set to hit cinemas on December 14 later this year, although it will release in North America on December 16. It's going to be a pretty long film compared to your average cinema experience, clocking in at around three hours. If you think that sounds a little too long, director James Cameron has a few choice words for you.
In an interview with , Cameron attempts to get ahead of some of the criticism that Avatar: The Way of Water might get for being a little too long. He explains that he doesn't want to hear "anyone whining about length" as he believes it's hypocritical to do so when people also regularly binge-watch TV shows.
"I💟 don’t want anybody whining about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight 🙈hours," says Cameron. "...I’ve watched my kids sit and do five one-hour episodes in a row. Here’s the big social paradigm shift that has to happen: it’s okay to get up and go pee."
While Cameron's argument is understandable, many folks are already pointing out that a cinema experience and binge-watching a TV show from the comfort of your own home are two very different prospects. For example, you can set your own pace when watching a show at home, have bathroom breaks without fear of missing anything, and grab snacks and drinks whenever you like. On the other hand, watching a movie in a cinema is one, long, three-hour experience, something not everyone is keen on.
Whether you think Avatar: The Way of Water is a film worth doing that for is completely up to you, but you'll have to decide before this December. If you need a refresher on the events of the first film, Disney is also planning to rerelease the original Avatar on September 23 with remastered audio and video.
On the video game side of things, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is still scheduled to release later this year, with 168澳洲🅰幸运5开奖网:rece𓆏nt rumors suggesting a November 18 launch. We'll likely get an official release date during the next Ubisoft Forward, which the publisher has recently announced will tak🏅e place on September 10.
