Jim Carrey has shared his take on the fan backlash that prompted the redesign of the Sonic character in the upcoming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Things took an odd turn for Paramount after its first trailer got mocked by fans, who🐟 were in no wa🍷y wrong to voice their discontent over the disproportionate character that hardly did justice to the Sonic we grew up seeing.

The fan response prompted Paramount to push the movie's release date to February 2020, in order for the iconic hedgehog to be redesigned. However, there's some confusion over the debut now after the movie's official Twitter account went on a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:date-change spree. ꧂The header now says that the movie will drop in "February" instead of the very specific February 14, 2020 date that was reported. Thꦓat's after it was changed to "March 2020" for a short period.

"Thank you for the support. And the criticism," director Jeff Fowler tweeted after the trailer launched. "The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design and you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount and Sega are fully committed to making this char🧜acter the BEST he can be."

Jim Carrey, wh💞o plays Doctor Robotnik in the movie, says he isn't quite sure how he feels a꧑bout fans having an influence over Sonic's design.

“I don’t know quite how I feel about the audience being in on the creation of it while it’s happening,” he said during a TCA session on Friday, having made an appearance to promote his series Kidding (h/t ).

“So, we’ll have to see what that entails, because sometimes you find that the collective consciousness deꦍcides it wants something, and then when it gets it, it goes, ‘Okay. I just wanted it. I didn’t care🐷 about it. I just jumped on the bandwagon’ or whatever.”

Carrey insisted that he doesn't care much about the backlash and the movie getting pushed back as a result. “It’s gonnaꦗ happen how it happens," he continued. "It’s either going to be a good thing or a bad thing."

The movie's producer Tim Miller has since promised that fans will be "pleased" wi♊th Sonic's redesign. We hope he's right.
