The solution isn't immediately obvious and it can take some fiddling to figure it out. Maybe, by sheer chance, you'll get it right through trial and error, but that could take hours, so why bother?
The answer is pretty simple, even if it isn't immediately noticeable, so don't fret. All you need is your trusty bow, your good spirits, and a bit of intuition. Here's how to solve the Fishing Shrine puzzle in two easy steps.
There Are Four Targets Surrounding The Shrine
At the shrine, you'll find that there are four targets. These are, as per usual, bright blue. There's one to the right of the shrine, one to the left, and two behind you both on the right and left as well — they are all diagonally adjacent, forming a square perimeter. You can easily spot them if you use the mask as it will highlight them as pictured above.
Shooting them in the wrong order will summon two flies that you have to fight. That's where things get a little tricky. You have to hit all of them in the correct sequence to actually solve this, so randomly darting off shots won't do you any favours.
Check The Candles In Front Of The Shrine
In front of the shrine are some candles. It might seem like random decor to spice things up, but it's actually integral to the puzzle. The order is four candles, two candles, one candle, and then three candles.
They represent each shrine. The first is the front-facing left shrine, the second is the backward-facing left shrine, the third is the front-facing 🌞right shrinಌe, and the fourth is the backward-facing right shrine.
As such, the solution is forward right, backward left, backward right, forward left. Hit them in that order and the red corruption will dissipate. With that, you've cleansed the shrine.
