Killing Floor 3 has been rumoured to be in development for a few months now, but Tripwire has finally shown it off (and thus confirmed its existence) at Gamescom Opening Night Live, giving us a peek at fleshpounds in all their next-gen... glory. They're grotesque and repulsive, which is exactly what you want from Frankenstein's zombified monster.

While we don't have a release date yet, we do know that it's launching on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Epic Games Store - you can wishlist it now.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The last Killing Floor game launched seven years ago in 2016 to a decent critic average score of 75. Little has been said or revealed about the sequel, however, but we can say for certain that it will involve brutally massacring zombies. Also, water is wet (please don't start the whole, is water wet? argument again).

Funnily enough, people on social media immediately thought the new Killing Floor trailer was Quake or Doom, given the mutated demon-looking creature being experimented on. We made the same mistake in our watchalong Discord call. But to many's surprise, it's Killing Floor, and the thing being experimented on is, funnily enough, one of the series' 'experiments'.

Fleshpounds are one of the series' toughest non-168澳洲幸运5开奖网:boss enemies, appearing in the first and second games. They're giant, hulking monsters with spiked maces for hands and can become enranged. When this happens, the light on its chest turns red and it charges towards you to dole out massive damage. Granted, charging can also damage other experiments and take them down, so it's not all bad. They also can't dodge grenades when enraged. Basically, piss 'em off and run around the corner to hide and let them wipe out the horde.

The only way rage ends, however, is if it hits you, gets stunned by an EMP, or if you do hide for 30 seconds. But when not enraged, Fleshpounds can block. At least, they can in Killing Floor 2, and blocking reduces all damage by ten percent. We'll have to wait and see how many of these mechanics carry over to the sequel.

On the website, it's revealed that Killing Floor 3 takes place in 2091, when "Megacorporation Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bioengineered monstrosities called 'Zeds.' Now, only the rebel group Nightfall stands between these infernal creations and the future of humanity."

It's believed that Killing Floor 2, which takes place a month after the first game, is set somewhere between 2017 to the 2040s, given that Strasser - who was frozen for 102 years - was put into cryogenesis in 1944. At the time, he was 29. That would mean Killing Floor 3 has a not-insignificant time skip.
