The answer is simple and clean.

As a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans have noticed by now, one major Kingdom Hearts game isn't being ported over to Steam alongside 1.5 + 2.5 Remiܫx, 2.8 Final Chap✅ter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3. I am, of course, talking about 2020's Kairi-centric rhythm spin-off, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.

Kingdom Hearts' Steam Ports Are Missing A Key Ingredient

When Square Enix initially revealed that Kingdom Hearts would be coming to Steam on June 13, 🎶. Many figured it was a mistake, but then a trailer for the Steam ports was released that showed each game in the collection in painstaking detail while completely glossing over Melody of Memory.

Although it's true that Melody of Memory is a rhythm spin-off that's not essential to the Kingdom Hearts canon (although it does set up in its final moments), it's still an odd omission that's made even stranger when you consider that it's the most recent release in the series.

Melody of Memory is notably the most Kairi-centr♎ic game in the series so far, which makes its omission from Steam even more noticeable.

Some fans have held out hope that it could mean we're getting an upgraded version of the game that brings over some new tracks and quality-of-life features, but that does seem like a little bit of a stretch and it's far more likely that Steam just wasn't able to port the game over alongside the rest of the series.

So far, Square Enix and Steam haven't said anything about why Melody of Memory is missing from the Steam collection, so it's not clear what the reasoning behind the decision is. It's possible that it gets brought over in the future but, for the foreseeable future, it looks like it's going to remain exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
