One of the most defining features of the Kingdom Hearts series - and, perhaps, its most infamous aspect - is the myriad of fantastical worlds from the Disney and Square Enix IPs that are recreated for players to explore. Sora has visited Mulan, Elsa, and many more iconic Disney characters and worlds - but it's not all Arendelle in the series. Here are some of the real-life (and real-life inspired) landmarks that are featured in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Mont St. Michel (from Dream Drop Distance's Country of the Musketeers )
This castle in the distance is striking when you visit it in Brittany, France. When the tide goes out, you can actually walk to the destination, but during Sora's adventure, the water came in, forcing Sora to use a boat to get to Mickey. It has the overall shape of the castle, but when witnessing this area in the game, it really resembles what it would be like to see the majestic castle across the water. You can find this beach by taking the carriage to The S♉hore.
Notre Dame Cathedral (from Dream Drop Distance's La Cité des Cloches)
Yes, Sora has explored France multiple times in🦩 the same game! This portrayal of the Notre Dame Cathedral on this primitive tech is impressive. It has the details of the stained glass of the windows, and the architecture is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It even has the light seeping through one of the main windows like a glowing halo. It's really like visiting the real thing, except with PS2-like glasses. If you go through the town area, you will eventually find the Notre Dame cathedral. Keep following the path and go left; you have reached your destination.
Paris Opera House/Palais Garnier (from Dream Drop Distance's Country of the Musketeers)
Based on the direct-to-video film, The Three Muskateers, the Opera House is speculated to look like the one from Paris. The reason: the majority of the film takes place in that city. The pillars and the statues on top look similar to the real thing, but there isn't a circular bulge in the middle. Once again, Square Enix put in all the details of an immaculate opera house. It is ordained with lights and has a stairway that's incredibly similar to the opera house in real life. Perhaps, Disney with the original design took some liberties, but it is definitely inspired by la Palais Garnier. Riku is inside tཧhe building to start with, but after finding the en🃏tryway and going outside, you will find this majestic sight. Sora can also access the area by using the carriage.
The Clock Tower and The Houses of Parliament (from Kingdom Hearts' Neverland)
This part of the Neverland world was really cool. After the events on Captain Hook's ship, Sora and company go to the clock tower (incorrectly called Big Ben) to drop off Wendy. They eventually find the keyhole on the clock face, but it's fascinating as to how accurate this portrayal of London is. The houses of parliament are added to the side of the clock tower with a small British flag flying in the air. The British flag looks like a r🌌ough GIF image, but it is still flowing with the wind. What makes this even꧒ grander is that you can fly around a designated area and glimpse the buildings and scenery of London town!
Westminster Abbey (from Kingdom Hearts' Neverland)
If yo🦹u squint your eyes and look to the right of the Houses of Parliament, you'll find Westminster Abbey. Americans most notably know this place as the cathedral where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton got married. Under normal circumstances, it can be visited by the public; just prepare for a long line.
Golden Gate Bridge (from Kingdom Hearts 3's San Fransokyo)
It might be a stretch as this is San Fransokyo's version of the Golden Gate Bridge, but it looks very similar to the one in real life. This iconic landmark made an appearance in the Disney film 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Big Hero 6, as Hiro learned how to fly with Baymax. In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts 3, it was barely featured with instances of enemy waves and boss battles. It was also used for emotional cutscene🃏s betwe𝐆en the characters. The top of the bridge, in which the cast sits on, reminds Roxas of his time with his friends at Twilight Town's clock tower. With this area, Square Enix recreated this iconic American landmark in wonderful detail. You can access this area by entering Battle Gate #11 in the North District Rail area.
Fort Charles (from Kingdom Hearts 3's The Caribbean)
After doing a little research, this recreation of the fort from Pirates of the Caribbean is Fort Charles. While the bell isn't present, the frame of the structure looks similar, and the cannons are positioned in the same way. Port Royal, its world name in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts 2, is actually a real place in Jamaica. This is one of its major tourist attractions and has been standing since🌄 the 16th Century, You may also know it as Fort Cromwell, but it was later renamed to Fort Charles for King Charles II. This one's easy to get to; go across the port area, pass through the trees and you're there. You can't miss it!
Shibuya (from Kingdom Hearts 3 and possibly a future game)
The most intriguing location and probably the most important is Shibuya. While hesitant to give out spoilers, Sora finds himself lost in Shibuya and faces the mysterious Yozora. Most are thinking there is a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:World Ends With You connection with the number 104 and possibly signifies a connection with the Reaper's Game. Sora also promised Neku that he'd visit him one day. Whatever happens, exploring this area in a future game will be awesome. You can watch a cutscene with Sora in Shibuya by finishing the game on Critical, or by collecting a certain number of Lucky Emblems: 30 for Proud, 60 for Standard, 90 for Beginner (viꦑa )
