Cookie Country is the beginning of your journey in Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe, and the very first stage that you must complete acts as a tutorial, guiding you through Kirby’s many wondrous abilities. You’ll learn how to use his classic m🅰ove of sucking in enemies, as well as how to complete various platformin🍰g sections.

At the end of the section, you’ll also encounter a boss fight, where you’ll have൲ to choose between two of Kirby’s Copy Abilities to win the battle. It’s the start of an exciting adventure on Planet Popstar, so you’ll want to start off on the right foot.

First Section

Kirby in front of an arrow pointing right in Stage One of Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

As soon as you enter the stage, follow the arrow right, and then suck in the Waddle Dee (just like the tutorial board tells you to) and expel it to smash the block ahead of you — you’ll receive a star. Keep going, suck in the block, and expel this toward the block with the Waddle Dee on top of it. Keep doing this whenever you see a block or a Waddle Dee.

You’ll come across another tutorial board with directions, telling you to swallow the knight enemy. Do this, and you’ll gain the Sword Copy Ability, giving you a green hat and a sword to use when attacking enemies. You can attack short-range to hit enemies directly or attack enemies from a distance, as it shoots a fireball too. You can also hold the attack button to perform a spin attack.

Keep walking across the stage, and you♋’ll come across two ledges with three stars hanging above them. Collect these by jumping across the platforms, and continue.

At the next tutorial board, you simply need to run across to collect the stars. You’ll automatically run across the gaps, so there’s no need to jump. Shortly after, there’s a high arch of stars. To collect them all, hold the jump button down longer than normal, and guide Kirby across the gap.

Further along, you’ll learn how to use Kirby’s ability to hover. Repeatedly press the jump button to get Kirby to take in air and float. At the top of the ledge, there’s a flying enemy, so make sure to kill it wi𝔍th your sword. Carry on until you reach a wall of rock with a doorway surrounded by stars. Kill the enemy here and go on throﷺugh.

Second Section

Kirby Making A Hole In The Bridge

Now, you’re in a cave-like area, and you’ll see a fire-breathing enemy below. Watch out for its fiery breath when you attack it and continue past it. Hop down the ledge, mindful of the kౠnight swinging its sword, and kill it. You’ll come to a ledge with no gap for you to jump down — as the tutorial board suggests, you’ll need to make a hole yourself. Jump up, and then force Kirby down.

Kirby picks up the key in Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Keep going right, and grab the glowing, star-shaped key. The mushroom enemies ahead throw up their caps, and if🌊 th🎐ey hit you, you’ll get hurt.

If you attack the mushroom enemies first, they’ll lose their caps, and won&ౠrsquo;t be able to throw anything at you.

Jump over the first one, landing on the platform between, then jump onto the seco꧟nd to reach the door. Kirby w🍒ill automatically unlock it.

Grab the Energy Sphere directly ahead. Continue until you see a large block with a star on it — to suck this up and access the extra life behind it, you’ll need to drop the Sword Copy Ability. Feel free to suck it🃏 back up once you&rsqu🅷o;ve got the block out of the way.

Float up onto the platform above, and you’ll see a giant patchwork Waddle Dee. Attack it, and it’ll split into three Waddle Dees that you can attack as normal.

As you cross the bridge here, you might notice the pathway to the bottom. You can jump and press down here to access the lower floor, where you’ll see various blocks in front ꦬof a red st🌱ar. Swallow the blocks to get it.

Continue 🍰past here and up the ladder to ♑read the next section of this stage.

Third Section

Kirby Gains Ultra Sword Super Ability

You’re now out in the open with grassy fields all around. Follow the arrow right, and a knight will appear from a star-shaped hole in the sky. Swallow it, and you’ll receive the Ultra Sword Super Ability. It attacks with great power, destroying the blockages in the path as well as any enemies. However, the time you can use it is limited, which is shown by the gauge below Kirby.

Use it here to destroy the platform with Waddle Dees on it and continue ahead. Do the same when you reach the next blockag👍e, and when you come across the giant patchwork Waddle Dee surrounded by smaller enemies.

Star opens in the sky in Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Contin💫ue using the Ultra Sword to clear your path, and you’ll eventual𝕴ly see another star-shaped hole appear in the sky. Kirby will be sucked into it, and you’ll be taken to the next section.

Kirby’s Ultra Sword ability will be removed when you enter the hole.

Fourth Section

Kirby sucks in a big block as a wall follows him in Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Now you’re without any Copy Abilities, you’ll have to suck up the block to attack the Waddle Dee, and continue swallowing any enemies you come across.

As you walk through this section, a wall will close in on the left, following you. It doesn’t move too fast, so you don’t need to wor🌠ry about rushing ahead of it unless you fall and it catches up to you.

When you come across the huge Waddle Dee, hold the swallow button until Kirby sucks it up, then expel it at the ꦇbloc🐈ks and Waddle Dees ahead.

There’ll be another cluster of large blocks to swallow after this, so do the same to remove all the smaller blocks and Waddle Dees ahead. At the next giant Waddle Dee🅺, do the same.

Now, you’ll come across another group of blocks. Suck all of these in to clear the pathway ahead of you f🦹or a while. Destroy the patchwork Waddle Dee up ahead and enter the door to clear this section.

Sphere Doomer Boss Fight

Kirby underneath the Fire and Sword ability, as well as a piece of meat in in Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Just before the boss fight, you’ll be able to eat a chunk of meat to restore Kirby’s HP, and choose between two Copy Abilities: the Sword you’ve used before, as well as Fire, which Kirby uses to breathe fire. It’s up to you which you choose here, but the Sword is the easier option to use.

Onඣce you🦄’ve made your choice, go ahead and face the Sphere Doomer.

How To Defeat The Sphere Doomer

Kirby facing the Sphere Doomer Boss in Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

The Sphere Doomer is a flying enemy who regularly throws projectiles at you that bounce around the arena. You can hit these with the Sword to destroy them or bounce them back at the boss. If you’re using Fire, simply breathe fire on𝓡 them to destroy them.

The Sphere Doomer will also dive down to charge at you from above or from the back of the arena, but this is easily dodged.

It’s a relatively simple boss — dodge the projectiles and incoming attacks if it dives at you, then attack when near. It often flies away from you, so you may need to jump after it to get your hits in.

Once you’ve reduced its health to zero, you’ll get two Energy Spheres to collect. Head into the blue star at the end to be taken to the section wit🦂h the exit — just head through the door with staಞrs surrounding it.

Above the door, there’s a platform with a big blue star for you to collect. Ge🦄t Kirby to jump up there to collect it.
