We've seen what can happen to adaptations that don't respect the lore of the games they're based on, and the most successful examples are usually TV shows and films that create their own stories while simultaneously making sure they can feasibly fit into a game's world. The Kazuma Kiryu we created 20 years ago was perfect, and there's nothing more to add to his character. When you see how they fight in this drama, it's obvious they were not recreating the characters from the game. This project brought forth a new Kazuma Kiryu.
