"Remake, sequel, use only characters, use only game system, genre conversion, work combination are all OK," writes Konami ಌin the submission guidelines. Konami will accept submissions until January 6, 2022, at which point the publisher will begin a nine-month examination process to determine the winners.

Submitting an entry is relatively straightforward--just email a detailed description of the game with a few images. After that, you'll need to pass three screenings where you show more detailed documents, game development notes, and even playable demos to Konami evaluators.

The grand prize is 2 million yen (roughly $18,000 USD), a trophy, and a contract 🐼to actually make the winning entry into a real game, with full support from Konami. The five runners up get 573,000 yen and Konami may or may not offer a game contract.
