Konami has issued a statement apologizing for the multiple problemꦛs eFootball players have run into during 𝓰its first two days.

efootball, the rebrand of Pro Evolution Soccer, was announced earlier this year and finally arrived on PC and co🔥ꦉnsoles earlier this week. While the gam𝔍e was never going to be FIFA 22, which launches today, Konami would not have expected the backlash its revamped football sim received early doors. The game has a lot of problems, and its developers have now acknowledged those problems.

“We are very sorry for the problems, and want to assure everyone we will take all concerns seriously and strive to improve the current situation,” Konami's statement reads. The statement also includes a list of problems eFootball players have reportedly been having. Everything from the behavior of the bℱall to the facial expressions on players faces.

Mere hours after eFootball became available across multiple platforms, clips and screenshots of its issues started to surface online. Images of a haunting Lionel Messi are all over Twitter right now. The morphing of the Argentine star's face is particularly strange since Konami scanned Messi's face and body for the game. Other viral clips include one of a referee flattening out like a pancake and swimming across the pitch, and another of a player Naruto running towards goal.

efootball's early teething problems run so deep that the game has ෴already become the worst-rated🌺 title in Steam history. , which tracks the bottom 100 rated games on the platform as well as the top 250, currently states that eFootball has an 8% approval rating. That means only 8% of everyone to have played and rated it on Steam think it's any good.

One of the selling points of eFootball is that it will forgo annual releases and just be constantly updated instead. Konami didn't plan on rolling out the game's first major update until November. However, as hinted at in the statement, eFootball's first update will now go live in October. Not the one that will add new features to the game, but one that will hopefully fix all of the early problems that have quickly been discovered.
