Larian Opens New Studio To Help With Two New RPGs

Last month, Larian Studios announced that it was workingꦑ🉐 on two new RPGs following the gargantuan success of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur's Gate 3 which still endures today, nearly a year later. To help with these upcoming projects, it has opened a new studio i꧃n Warsaw, Poland.

"With two new very ambitious RPGs now starting development, what better way to see our visions realised than by growing the team and opening a seventh studio in the heart of Poland's lively gaming scene!" Larian tweeted, attaching a photo of the new studio's logo.

Warsaw is home to a slew of talented game developers such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:CD Projekt Red, who even replied to the tweet saying, "Welcome, neighbours! Can't wait to see what you're cooking!"

As Larian said, Warsaw is its seventh studio, jo𓃲ining a global company with branches in Spain, Ireland, Belgium, England, Malaysia, and Canada. And with a new studio open, there are a few exciting job opportunities to match--the team is hiring for a writer, designer, graphics programmer, and tools programmer.

Neither Of Larian Studios' Two New Projects Is Baldur's Gate 4

While we don't know what Larian is working on, we know what it isn't. CEO Swen Vincke announced earlier this year at GDC that the studio is moving away from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons, which means 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:no Baldur's Gate 3 expansion or sequel.

It announced in a community update that it's choosing to "follow our creativity wherever it leads" instead. That could mean Divinity: Original Sin 3, or it could mean a new IP altogether.

Before Baldur's Gate 3 shot Larian Studios into the mainstream, it was known for the Divinity series which has been ongoing since 2002. There have been seven games so far, many of which are heralded as some of the best in the cRPG genre.

"As an independent studio since 1996, we value the freedom to follow our creativity wherever it leads," Vincke wrote. "In this case, after six years in the Forgotten Realms and much discussion and rumination, we've decided to seize this opportunity to develop our own IPs. We're currently working on two new projects and we couldn't be more excited about what the future has in store."

Details might be vague, but Vincke revealed in January that he has already figured out Act 1 of whatever the studio's next release is. Going by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldur's Gate 3, it will likely launch in early access first.
