's director, Swen Vincke, has suggested that the next game from will be smaller in scope and (hopefully) won't take six years of development time.
After years of being in early access, Baldur's Gate 3 just launched on Steam earlier this week and has quickly become one of the most talked-about games of the year so far, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ro🔥cketing its way up the most-played charts and into the heart of many a D&D player. While Baldur's Gate 3 is unlikely to leave any of our minds any time soon, it seems that Larian Studios already has some ideas about its next big project.
That's according to Larian Studios chief executive officer Swen Vincke, . Towards the end of the interview, which mostly talks about how Vincke and the rest of Larian Studios are responding to the massive hype around Baldur's Gate 3, Vincke mentions that, although he's not sure exactly what the team is going to be working on next, he hinted that the next game from the team will be smaller in scale.
Not only that, but Vincke also hopes that Larian Studios can work on multiple games at once, rather than having one big title that takes up so much time. In fact, one of the key points that Vincke made during his interview is that he doesn't want to spend another six years working on one game, which is how long Baldur's Gate 3 has been in development for.
Although the term "smaller scale" probably worries those who still equate a game's value to how lengthy it is, it's worth noting that Baldur's Gate 3 is almost incomprehensibly big and detailed. Not only are there 174 hours of cutscenes and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:17,000 ending variations but, as a game trying to emulate the D&D experience, there are tons of different ways to go about playing the game, from casting "Talk to Animal♔s" on every critter you see to stacking boxes on top of one another to literally get over obstacles.
It's also worth noting that Vincke seemed unsure about what Larian Studios' next game is going to be, which suggests that it doesn't have a core concept locked down just yet, so a lot could change about the team's plans in the next few years. Considering how massive Baldur's Gate 3 is turning out to be, it'll be interesting to see if the influx of new players will affect Larian Studios' plans for the future in any way, or if it'll continue doing the games that it's known for.
