The PS3 was a powerful system when it launched, but it took developers some time to squeeze the juice out of the CELL chip, but Naughty Dog eventually managed it with the acclaimed and seminal survival action adventure 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us. But even those talented developers struggled with the machine's limits as it frequently dropped framerates on the PS3.
The game ♛was remastered for the PS4, which offered a well received boost in framerates, offering the kind of stable gameplay those trying to avoid clickers would ಞappreciate, along with improvements in graphics. But The Last of Us has been talked up to be getting a remake, for the PS5, and according to well-connected games industry honcho Jeff Grubb, it could be release in time for the holiday season at the end of this year (via ).
Speaking on the , Grubb said that he "keeps hearing [that the game's] coming out this year". But the rumours swirling around seem to have some basis in the reality of how Naughty Dog operates.
"You've got to keep in mind that The Last of Us: Part 2 came out a while ago, and there's people at that studio who were looking around for something to do. It's a pretty efficient and well-oiled machine over there at Naughty Dog, and they don't have to do too much because that's the whole point – it's a game they can update really quickly".
Grubb repeated that he is pretty assured that the remake will be releasing this holiday and is set to be one of Sony's big end-of-year launches. The HBO live-action adaptation won't be appearing on screens until next year, but Grubb wasn't overly concerned and pointed out that the plan would be to have the game available to buy when the show does release.
If The Last of Us remake is launching this year then perhaps we'll be learning about it fairly soon once PlayStation's release schedule is revised. Also strongly hinted to be in the works is a multiplayer spin-off of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us: Part 2, and perhaps we could find out more about that at the same time, but the ball is in Sony and Naughty Dog's court.
