But it was still a hint of her vengeful nature.
9 Aban💙dons Jackson For Vengeance
Wanting revenge is a reasonable action considering what Ellie went through. Maria knows she cannot stop her and Dina from leaving Jackson, so she does not try. It would be unreasonable to ask her to just let go of her negative feelings after seeing someone she considered a father murdered right in front of her. Even if the two's relationship was strained, she still had strong feelings for Joel. This is understandable, but it's still the beginning of Ellie's dark ♛path.
8 ꦓ 𒁏 Tortures Nora
Ellie infiltrates a hospital run by the WLF to hunt down Nora, one of the people who trapped and killed Joel. Upon finding her and jumping into the spore-infested basement, Ellie tortures her for information regardingඣ Abby's whereabouts. Even worse, the player initiates the beatdown by pressing square several times as Ellie mutilates her with a pipe.
7 ♈ Chases Abby Instead Of Trying To Save Tommy
When traveling with Jesse to save Tommy, Ellie ultimately decides to go after Abby at the aquarium. Even though🅠 they agreed to save Tommy and go back to Jackson, Ellie just cannot let go. She did not know at the time, but this decision is the first domino which results in Jesse's death and Tommy's permane🐓nt injuries. Had she just let go at that moment, more pain and heartache could have been avoided.
6 Kills Mel
Once entering the aquarium, Ellie happens upon Owen and Mel. While interrogating the two, a quick movement from Owen causes her to kill the two of t🥃hem. Only immediately after does she discover Mel's pregnancy and immediately becomes sick to her stomach.
Venge🧜ance blinds Ellie to the reality of the situation. It is worse because Mel is the most remorseful and repulsed by the way Joel's life enℱded.
5 Endangers Dina ༒
By the end of the first day in Seattle, Dina reveals her pregnancy. After meeting up with Jesse, everyone resolves to find Tommy and head back to Jackson. Eventually, Ellie decides to head to the aquarium and hunt down Abby, an act which ends up putting Dina and the unborn baby in serious danger. At the end of Seattle, Abby is moments away from killing Dina before Lev convinces her to stop.
4 🙈 Abandons Dina And JJ
Ellie and Dina are living a se𓆏rene existence on a farm with JJ for a few years before Tommy visits them with Abby's new whereabouts. Ellie initially refuses to go after the woman who killed Joel, but ultimately abandons her lover and child to exact vengeance. Dina is devastated by this move and leaves the farm, having Ellie return to an empty house at the game's conclusion.
3 S༺till Looks For Vengeance A𝔍fter Abby's Enslavement
While in Santa Barbara, Abby and Lev are captured by the Rattlers and enslaved ܫfor at least two months. When Ellie finds Abby, she is barely recognizable with her sunken face and deteriorated frame. Even in this state, Ellie insists on fighting her to the death. She almost lets her go before a vision of the night Joel died flashes before Ellie's eyes, once again bringing back the rage.
2 Threatens To Kill Lev 𒊎 💎
Abby has no desire to fight Ellie considering her change in character over the course of the game and her current physical ꧂state after imprisonment. Ellie is having none of this, however, and goes as far as threatening to kill Lev, an innocent person with no involvement in the matter, in order to initiate the battle. With no wish to see Lev harmed, Abby agrees to fight El🐷lie.

The hand-to-hand bout that makes up the last combat encounter is lengthy and filled with brutal moment▨s of violence — Abby even bites off two of Ellie's fingers. Ellie ultimately gets the upper hand, however, beating up Abby and forcing her head underwater. At the last moment, Ellie♛ relents and lets Abby sail off with Lev. She has already lost so much on her journey, and ultimately loses sight of the good life she had with Dina and JJ.
