Upbringing In Piltover
Piltover is a city known for its advanced technology and beauty. All across Runeterra, people want to go to Piltover to make a name for themselves. It’s one of the most influential cities in Runeterra where merchants, artists, craftsmen and politicians all hold power.
Being a port city means ships are constantly making trips to and from Piltover to drop off an🦄d receive goods. That is where most of the gold in the city is made.
Wealthy And Powerful Family
Caitlyn Kirraman grew up in the city of Piltover. Her parents were wealthy merchants who held a lot of influence in the city. Clan Kirraman had a lot of say in the politics of Piltover, with her mom being the matriarch of the family.
Caitlyn’s dad was an artificer who didn’t enjoy mi♌ngling with the elite in Piltover as much as his wife. Instead, he preferred to spend time outside of the city, tracking and hunting animals. In fact, he was the one who gave Caitlyn his musꦇket that she would use to train her marksman skills.
This all allowed Caitlyn to essentially have the best of both worlds. Born into a wealthy family, she could hang out with the most influential people in Piltover while also spending time hunting with her dad. Her parents were hard on her, but fair. They taught her about how you need to work hard, but also find time to relax. Without them, Caitlyn wouldn’t be the intelligent and open-minded person she is today.
Love Of Hunting
Caitlyn got her love of hunting from he🔥r dad. She enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting♍ and tracking animals more than she did in the city. Being involved in politics like her mom didn’t interest Caitlyn in the slightest.
She felt at home out in the fields. It’s in the great outdoors where she honed her craft and became a talented markswoman. She never for a seco🌃nd thought that something would happen to her parents, but when she was inevitably called into action, she had already developed the necessary skiꦕlls to get the job done.
Progress Day
Progress Day was arguably the most influential day in Piltover's history. It marked the day the Sun Gates opened for the first time, allowing for quicker trades between the northern continent of Valoran and increased taxation on all trades. Opening the Sun Gates turned Piltover's already decent economy into one of the biggest in all of Runeterra.
But Progress Day didn't have a positive impact on everyone. For Caitlyn and her family, it was a dark time that pushed everyone to their limit.
The Robbery And Kidnapping
After Progress Day, Caitlyn went home to find it had been ransacked with her parents nowhere to be seen. Without a second thought, she thrust herself into action. Using her incredible tracking skills, Caitlyn located the thugs that kidnapped her parents and came up with a plan to bust them out.
In the dead of night, Caitlyn rescued her parents 𒅌with no ou🐎tside help and learned some vital information about their captors in the process. It turns out that the person who hired these thugs to kidnap her parents goes by C.
Caitlyn and her family went back to living their normal lives, but her mom didn't want to have any part of the politics of Piltover anymore. With Caitlyn not interested in taking over her spot as the family matriarch or working as an artificer like her father, she dedicated herself to finding out who this C really was.
The Search For C
Caitlyn began wo💞rking as a private investigator, using the top notch hunting and tracking skills at her disposal. She did everything she could to try and figure out who this C was, but no matter what she did, she constantl☂y came up short.
To commend Caitlyn for her self-made success, her parents crafted her a hextech rifle. It’s actually the same rifle that Caitlyn uses in the game. It was much more powerful and accurate tꦡhan any musket she had ever fired.
Working With The Wardens
The Piltover Wardens are the police force of Pil🐠tover. They’re funded by the high trade taxes in Piltover and often receive generous donations from the merchant clans in the city. These donations are often in the form of hextech weapons or other kinds of tools.
Like any police force, there’s a bit of corruption with the Piltover Wardens as some clans will simply pay them off with overly generous donations in the hopes that they’ll look the other way.
The Sheriff Of Piltover
Feeling like she hit a wall in her search for C, Caitlyn decided to start taking private investigator jobs for others. She eventually became so well known for her talents that th🍨e Wardens requested her services.
The Wardens offered her the position of sheriff, but Caitlyn initially declined. Later, she realized that the Wardens' resources could be helpful in her search to find C, so she changed her mind and accepted the job.
Partnering Up With Vi
Caitlyn quickly became a widely respected Sheriff in Piltover, dedicated to protecting the City of Progress. Caitlyn will do anything to protect the city she calls home and has undoubtedly become a legend in the region of Piltover.
Caitlyn partnered with Vi, a new recruit from Zaun, the underground city beneath Piltover. While Caitlyn is calm and level-headed, Vi is the tota🗹l opposite. She’d rather shoot first and ask questions later. How these two work so well together is difficult to understand, but they’ll do everything in their power to uncover the identity of C and bring them to justice.
