168澳洲幸运5开奖网:League of Legends has a plethora of champions with diverse designs and m❀echanics that are ripe for explorations in genres outside of MOBAs. Project L looks to be a tantalizing venture into the real꧃m of fighting games. But LoL features 150+ champions, so who is worthy of a spot in the roster which is likely to be limited to at most 25 spots at launch?
It would be simple to deck out the roster with popular champions like Yasuo and call it a day, but there are only so many times the sword can be reinterpreted. Besides, Runeterra has plenty of regions and races to explore, though someone like the Yordles will take time to figure out due to their size, or multi-limbed characters like Rell and Urgot because coding those models sounds like a ghastly endeavor. Aside from that, there should be a balance between the popular picks who attract players, and the obscure ones who are given a s🎐econd chance to shine. Most importantly though, it’s about the uni⛄queness of a champion’s kit and how it translates into a fighting game environment.
10 Nautilus
Even though Nautilus168澳洲幸运5开奖网: isn't the strongest late-game champion, he translates well to the staple archetypes of every fighting game — the grappler and the big guy (who are often the same character). Plenty of other candidates fit the spot like the beloved supports Thresh and Blitzcrank, but their kits aren't that interesting beyond a Skorpion-style 'Get-Over-Here'. Nautilus however can do all the same things as the other two but with more candor.
Plus his joke dance in LoL-proper is him swimming through the air. Incorporating that nugget into his gameplay creates the potential for devastation since the geyser knock-ups could be followed up by Nautilus' surprising degree of air mobility due to the floatiness.
9 Udyr
With time, Udyr has become an 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:underrated jungle champion in light of his more elaborate contemporaries, but he could regain popularity through Project L. In Runeterra Udyr is a battle shaman who channels spirits, so 🧸with four different forms at his disposal, he is an ideal candidate for a stance character.
At its most basic the forms could function as follows — Bear is his default allrounder form, Turtle is slower and reliant on t🌞imed counters, Tiger stance ⛎is faster making it good for stringing combos, while Phoenix either extends his range or grants him access to a literal QCF fireball.
8 Fiora
Being a duelist makes Fiora a rather simple and obvious choice for Project L. However that isn't to say that her playstyle is simplistic. Beyond parries synonymous with her archetype, the precision of a duelist could be taken to its logical extreme.
In LoL Fiora's passive ability keeps her constantly on the move. She circles around the enemy striking the weak spots. With some air mobility, Fiora has boundless cross-up potential, and this could be a nice homage to her original ultimate Blade Waltz, which was among the best🌃 because it's essentially Cloud's Omnislash from FF7.
7 Zed
Zed is the most perfect candidate for Project L he's got everything — popularity, a martial arts background, and unique gameplay. Sure Lee Sin also has all three, but once brought into the realm of fighting games Lee loses his individuality and becomes a generic Shoto with a gimmicky fireball follow-up.
Zed, on the other hand, while fighting like an aggressive martial artist also has access to shadow puppets who ꧙mimic his attacks and with whom he can trade places. This makes him more methodical in his approach to combat, with plenty of🐓 opportunities for clever set-ups and executions both of the set-ups and the champions at the heart of them.
6 LeBlanc
Mages are an integral part of Runeterra, (a huge plot point is the Demacian mage genocide campaign), so representing that part of the world seems natural. While Lux is a safer more popular choice, Leblanc's kit when translated to a 2D fighter fulfills similar functions but has more left to give, e.g. being able to follow up one projectile with another without delay, or blink in-and-out for spacing.
LeBlanc could take Tekken 7's Rage mechanic, incorporating a form of it into her playstyle, but instead of granting her more damage at the 20% hp mark LeBlanc could create a doppelganger that mirrors her inputs but doesn't deal damage, and depending on the cooldowns she can trade places with it two-to-three times. Lastly, LeBlanc is a pillar of the Noxian Empire and a matron of the Black Rose so lore-wise she's more than earned the spot.
5 Samira
It's well-known that Samira is Dante of Devil May Cry transposed to League; her in-game kit is wholly identical to the demon slayer sans Devil Trigger (that part went to Aatrox). Dante is no stranger to fighting games like MvC3, and Project L seems to take direct inspiration from it so Samira hits the jackpot.
In fact, it's rumored that Samira was designed with Project L in mind, perhaps eventually we'll see her on the base roster. Dante is all about aerial knock-ups and combo strings so it's not hard to imagine the kind of playstyle Samira would embody.
4 Irelia
Irelia has always been a powerful champion and her rework made her a very popular pick. However, Irelia could be more technical as a fighter, her ever-expanding array of floating blades affords her endless opportunities for creative reinterpretations of her abilities. After all, not everything needs to be taken straight out of the source material some things can be reworked as long as they keep the spirit of the cham🍌pion intact. E.g. Irelia could create a projectile shield, slice through them, or place the blades across the screen for trap scenarios.
3 Illaoi
Talking of screen setﷺ-ups, this Bilgewater representative could offer a unique take on the mechanic. However, instead of being a rushdﷺown-trapper mixture, Illaoi would be slower and more deliberate, placing tentacles around the stage and choosing when to activate them. In a sense, this could work similarly to Zato-1 in GGS.
Moreover, Illaoi could have Test of Spirit as a command grab and fulfill grappler role for those who don't vibe with Nautilus. All in all, Illaoi is one of Riot's best designs — she takes heavy inspiration from Mesoamerican mythology, a region barely seen in popular media, so it'd be a shame to not see her on the roster.
2 Sylas
Including Sylas without Lux seems like a bold move from a lore standpoint, but he has layers that are too compelling not to explore in a fighter. Sylas is interesting on two levels, one of them being his simiওlarity to Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat.
He can copy or steal other's abilities; it does sound somewhat gimmicky, so it's not Sylas' defining trait. The defining trait that elevates him is the chain spinning that triggers any time Sylas does a special, so potentially the range and speed at which his normals come out could increase, and he could use them for grabs or to move around the stage.
1 Aphelios
Aphelios is a marksman ripe for Project L. Jinx is likely the game's primary mid-ranged fighter who'll have a snappy set of commands with a few traps for good measure, but that doesn't mean there isn't space for more.
Aphelios likely has the widest range of abilities, and if included he could rival Angel's Chain Circles in KoF for the sheer follow-up complexity. Aphelios is a stance changer, however, he wouldn't control the stance change as easily as Udyr. Instead, he'd function from a pre-set order that he could slightly tweak as he goes along. This degree of controlled chaos makes him the most compelling candidate because players would have to think on the fly about what combos to commit to, knowing that certain buttons will change after five weapon attacks.
