Yasuo is a roaming swordsman who dominates any solo lane in. He is ideal for anyone who is looking to deal a lo♌t of damage very quickly. The trade-off is he is quite a squishy chap with limited utility. He is one of the more challenging characters to boot, which makes mastering him rather satisfying.

Passive/Active Skills

Way Of The Wanderer (Passive Skill)

  • Resolve: Moving builds Flow. At max Flow, damage from a Champion or Monster grants a temporary shield.
  • Intent: Yasuo’s Critical Rate is doubled, but his Critical Strike Damage is reduced to 180%.

Steel Tempest

This is best used as a mobility tool. Steel Tempest h🅠as a lot of synergies. Firstly, it is treated as an Attack for Crits. Secondly, when used, you gain stacks. At stacks, Steel Tempest w꧙ill know enemies airborne. Finally, Steel Tempest, when used during Sweeping Blades animation, will strike in an AOE.

Wind Wall

Wind Wall is Yasuo’s main utility skill. It has a long cooldown, however, it will completely block all projectiles that collide with it for 4 seconds. This can be lifesaving for both you and your party, and can ef👍fectively shut down powerful skill-shot ultimates if timed correctly.

Sweeping Blade

Sweeping Blade is another mobility tool that has an incredibly short cooldown. Yasuo dashes THROUGH a target enemy♛ and can recast this every 0.4 seconds. The catch is that you can’t cast this on the same enemy within 8 seconds. You can use Sweeping Blade to rapidly dash through groups of enemies to engage squishy backline units.

Last Breath (Ultimate Skill)

Last Breath is Yasuo’s ultimate, and it is quite the doozy. It can only be used on Airborne enemies but will keep them suspended for longer giving the move a surprising amount of CC. Not only that, but Yasuo will also max his Flow and gain bonus Armour Penetration when landing Critical Strikes, giꦑving him a noticeable damage increase that persists after the initial burst.

What Attacks To Charge First

  1. Steel Tempest should be your go-to start. It deals great damage, has good scaling, offers excellent mobility, works nicely with Way Of The Wanderer, will combo into Sweeping Blade later on, and has a CC element.
  2. Next, you want to add that synergy with Steel Tempest and take Sweeping Blade. This will give Yasuo a staggering amount of mobility. You can now execute very effective hit-and-run strikes.
  3. Wind Wall will depend heavily on your opponent. You will either take it after Sweeping Blade, or you will delay it. If your opponent is a melee opponent, then Wind Wall may not be worth the investment this early. In this case, start pumping Steel Tempest.
  4. Once you have gotten Steel Tempest maxed, Sweeping Blade is the next obvious pick, granting an increase in your combo damage.
  5. Last Breath should be charged every time you get the opportunity. It takes priority over everything.
  6. Since Wind Wall works just as effectively at level one, you want to charge this ability last.

Learning About Item Loadouts

Wild Rift Yasuo Crit Duelist loadout

Crit Fighter

As you may have guessed from Yasuo’s amazing passive, he loves Crit. This will be a theme in all of his builds. This one, in particular, will prioritise Crit Chance and Attack Speed with some dabbling in some defences to make up f💮or Yasuo’s general lack of resilience.

Blade Of The Ruined King

Yasuo gains bonuses for his Attack Damage and Attack Speed, whilst also 🌄gaining bonus Vamp, percentage-based damage, magic burst 𒆙damage and movement leeching.

Solari Charge Blade

Grants a significant bonus to Critical Rate, attaꦫck speed and haste. Additionally, gains Sunburst, which deal🃏s additional damage that can also Crit.

Gluttonous Quicksilver

Yasuo gains Physical and Magic Vamp, as well as a buff to his movement speed. Also grants an active that clears all CC,🌌 and a passive that grants Tenacity and Slow Resist.

Trinity Force

Another item that grants dam🌌age and attack speed bonuses. In addition, T🤡rinity Force will increase Health and Haste. Trinity Force will also deal additional burst damage after an ability is used, as well as a boost to Movement Speed on attack and kill.

Maw Of Malmortius

Maw grants bonus damage, Haste, and a chunk of Magic Resistance. Additionally, Maw will grant a powe꧅rful temporary shield if Yasuo takes too much damage from Magic Attacks, as well as additional bonuses to damage and Vamp.

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel is a great protective item that grants a decent chunk of armour as well as bonus damage. In addition, if Ya𝐆suo takes lethal damage, he will instead enter a 4-second stasis before being revived.

Crit Duelist

Where Crit Fighter had more of a focus on defence (whilst still dealing massive damage), Crit Duelist is all about that damage. Even higher Crit Chan♓ce means Crit Duelist is more than capable of deleting opponents if you can get your hands on them.

Blade Of The Ruined King

Yasuo gains bonuses for his Attack Damage and Attack Speed, whꦬilst also gaining bonus Vamp, percentage🦄-based damage, magic burst damage and movement leeching.

Phantom Dancer

Mercury’s Quicksilver

Mercury’s Quicksilver, provides all the benefits of Quicksilver, with🌞 an additional bonus to Magic Resistance as well as innate Tenacity.

Infinity Edge

Another powerful Crit Chance item. Infinityꦓ Edge grants a significant Attack Damage boost, as well as a Crit Rate boost. Infinity Edge also increases Crit Damage - negating Yasuo’s passive negative.

Death’s Dance

Death’s Dance is a tricky item that converts a 💖percentage of Physical Damage taken into True Damage that is applied over time. You can then activate Death’s Dance to heal a portion of your Maximum health♒. In addition to this, Death’s Dance also grants great bonuses to Attack Damage, Armour, and Haste.

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel is a great protective item that grant🅷s a decent chunk of armour as wel🌳l as bonus damage. In addition, if Yasuo takes lethal damage, he will instead enter a 4-second stasis before being revived.

Quick Note About Spells

Ignite is an obvious “go-to” for any damage-based character. Ignite will net you more kill✱s than you cant count, and should be used on weak fleeing enemies you can’t catch otherwise.

Flash on the other hand is an excellent mobility tool that allows you to hop w🔴alls and escape danger in a pinch. It synergises wonderfully with Yasuo’s other mobility tricks and can be used as a “get out of jail” card.
