Even though there are spell casters for each lane in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:League of Legends, those wanting to cast AP spells are almost always going to gravitate to the mid-lane in Summoner's Rift. It's an extremely fast-paced area compared to the other lanes, having a greater density of minions and much higher early damage than your usual role.

There are endless spellcasters and other character types that can do wonders in this intense environment, manyꦇ of which have been left behind by many players. With over a h🅠undred champions, there are definitely a couple of underrated gems that can still dominate this lane better than ever and put up a good fight against the best champions of the metagame.

Updated December 14, 2021, by Harry Fresle: With the release of the League of Legends Netflix series, Arcane, many people have been eager to join the game, whether it be returning players or new ones. As always, League of Legends is constantly evolving and updating, which also means that the meta is constantly adapting. This also means that there will always be champions that occasionally fall out of the meta despite being incredibly strong, inventive, and unique. With Season 12 on the verge of release, and with many new items being introduced, here are some champions that can thrive despite having a low play rate.

10 Anivia

Anivia League of Legends

Although Anivia is one of the oldest characters in League of Legends, she has proven to stand the test of time. Due to her powerful long-range spells, and fantastic passive, she is able to provide the edge in the lane and in team fights. Her Q can hit targets from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ridiculous distances and, when couple⭕d with her E, she can൩ either farm or deal massive damage with zero struggle.

When it comes to late game, Anivia can keep her distance and wreak havoc on the enemy team, which makes team fights way easier than other mages. Since you'll be building strong AP items, you are able to be creative with your build: whether you want to provide strong sustained damage, or major bursts of damage.

9 Corki

Corki League of Legends

Despite having one of the most fun kits in the entire game, Corki is definitely an underrated hybrid champion. Similar to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:other ADC champions, Corki can provide some ridiculous damage with his attack. Coupled with his great mobility, Corki is able to get right up c𒊎l🌃ose while also dealing some moments of intense damage.

Due to Corki's speed and mobility, coupled with his passive, Corki is able to get to mid-lane quickly, while also having the ability to roam with ease. With huge bursts of damage at his disposal, picking up kills and snowballing into a threat (that the enemies can't ignore) becomes second nature after a few games.

8 🌊 Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia in their Splash Art from League of Legends

Cassiopeia has fallen in League of Legends much due to how complicated she can be, as her poison mechanic can be somewhat odd to understand. The key build for her is to max out her venomous fang ability, as players don't often realize just how frequent and powerful it gets when used on poisoned targets.

However, something few players realize is that Cassiopeia's fang ability can trigger on any poisoned foe, meaning she combos amazingly with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:beloved champions like Teemo and Singed in a unique way to any other character. She certainly has some bad matchups, but given the popularity of these other two poison-based characters, there's a lot more you can do with her than most players realize.

7 Malzahar

Malzahar League of Legends

Although Malzahar is often categorized as a beginner-friendly champion, his kit is incredibly strong despite the low pick rate. Although his damage isn't what makes him a great mid-laner, the damage-over-time abilities can make him one of the strongest champions to be seen in the mid-lane.

Malzahar's absurdly strong ultimate is the most effective crowd-control style ultimate on a single target, making a perfect counter into a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:strong bottom lane. As he can silence while also dealing some major damage, Malzahar's passive spell-shield gives him a surprising amount of defensive power for such a strong utility-based champion.

6 Pantheon

Pantheon in their Splash Art from League of Legends

With Pantheon's recent rework, he's been a stellar support and top lane option with tons of defense, but his skill as a mid-lane champion is still just as great as ever. Throwing a spear will always deal tons of damage to your opponent, and thanks to its strangely thick hitbox it's hard for a foe to dodge it in most instances.

Once the game starts going later, Pantheon gets more impressive thanks to his wide set of close-range abilities, which can help him deal with the tanks of the top lane and assassins of the jungle. He's a strangely versatile champion and only gets stronger with more practice and understanding of his skills.

5 🍒 Aurelion Sol 𒈔

Aurelion Sol in their Splash Art from League of Legends

Many players are sleeping on Aurelion Sol since his abilities are somewhat unusual compared to other champions. Much of his damage comes in the form of three rotating meteors that orbit around him, making him not as close-range as other damag🍰e-over-time champions like Karthus.

The main reason to play Aurelion Sol, though, is his powerful crowd control ability. Firing his Q will fire a long-range shooting star that can easily stun most opponents in team fights, and while you might need to play defensively in the laning phase, your space dragon will absolutely be able to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:help his teammates while slowly dealing damage ⛄to eve♓rything around him.

4 Rumble

Rumble League of Legends

Most 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Top-lane characters struggle to survive in the mid-lane - however, Rumble thrives༒. Rumble is an incredibly underrated Mid-lane due ꦉto his immense damage, which works perfectly alongside runes like Electrocute and Conqueror. He has one of the highest levels of damage that players can encounter in all stages of the game.

Rumble also has one of the strongest ultimate abilities in the whole game, as not only can it slow the entire team down, but the immense range can provide huge damage in a large area. Although i𒁃t may feel wrong to play a melee character in the mid-lane, once you close the gap with your E, most enemies will not stand a chance🤡.

3 Annie

Annie League of Legends

Much like Malzahar, Annie has a bit of a reputation as one of the easier 🌳characters to play🧸 in League of Legends. While she is extremely inexpensive to buy with the in-game currency, Blue Essence, all of her abilities are fairly plain while providing huge damage and consistent stuns.

Although that isn't to say that Annie is strictly for beginners, as she is remarkably powerful if you manage to build up your passive. She can provide huge areas of damage and major crowd control, making her one of the harder champions to master. While she is incredibly strong in lane, if you focus on building strong AP items, you can enjoy one-shotting anyone who crosses you.

2 Galio

Galio in their Splash Art from League of Legends

Galio is one of the most significantly reworked champions in the game, with nearly every attack of his changed to suit a more melee and tank-based strategy than his original beefy spellcaster vibe. This might take some getting used to, but his a🙈bility to taunt opponents gives him one of the best levels of crowd control in the game, especially since his new ultimate can let you jump to allies nearly anywhere across the map when needed.

He doesn't gain power from Magic Resist items anymore, but he still has a unique AP shield that blocks many spells from eliminating him early in the game. This gives Galio a huge edge, and he's easily still one of the best 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:counter-picks to most spellcasters as a result.

1 Azir

Azir in their Splash Art from League of Legends

Azir is very easily the most underrated mid-lane champion of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the entire game, and this is almost entirely beca🌼use of how unique his spells are. Unlike many other magic-based basic attackers, Azir has an alarmiജng amount of range and movement thanks to his ability to jump between clones and attack through them.

This isn't even mentioning his strange ability to temporarily resurrect turrets, which essentially lets you buy time when you're in stressful situations and can't handle the onslaught of enemy minions in lanes that can't be taken care of. He's unlike any other mid-lane champion right now, and a great choice for anyone wanting to stick out as a mid-main.
