Week 3 was a wild ride for fans and players of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:League of Legends European Championship. Mad Lions and Rouge sit a🌺top the standings, while Fnatic hovers below the playoff threshold in seventh place with a 3-4 record.

The week was full of significant matchups and exciting plays. While there's still a lot to discover about Europe's professional League of Legends teams, fans did learn a lot from the matches this past week. Here are five takeaways from Week 3 of th🐬e LEC.

1. Misfits is still just a middle of the pack team.

via Riot Games

Misfts ended the Spring Split with a sixth place finish in playoffs, losing to Rouge. Many believed that the team would take a step up with the addition of former Team SoloMid bot la👍ner Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup. Mid lanꦛer Fabian 'FEBIVEN" Diepstraten combined with Kobbe in theory should propel the team to compete with the likes of Origen, Mad Lions and Rouge.

However, Misfits still looks to be a tier below those teams. Currently in a 4-way tie for third place with G2 Esports, Origen and SK Gaming, Misfits have struggled against higher tier competi💦tion.

As individual players, Misfits fields strong talent on their roster. But as a team, the lineup just hasn't gelled together how fans believe they could. Their macro play has been a point of inconsistency, with their players often on d💞ifferent pages.

In their game against Excel, afte꧅r a team fight win in the mid lane, the team split up. Kobbe went to push the wave in the top lane, while Iván "Razork" Martín went for Rift Herald and the rest of the team stayed mid to take the tower.

Thܫey wanted to take everything, and t🌳hey ended up getting nothing, as the remaining Excel members jumped onto the three Misfits players in the mid lane and forced everyone else away from their objectives. Misfits has the potential to be a top tier team, but they're just not at that level yet.

2. The top team in Europe is....

Well, no one really knows who the top team is.

Week 3 saw the battle for first place as well as the bat🌠tle of G2 and Fnatic happen, but get this: they were different games. Mad Lions currently lead the way in the LEC with a 6-1 record through three weeks. Rouge are one game behind them while four teams are tied for the third place spot behind Rouge.

Although it seems naive to say anyone other than G2 is the best team in Europe, the results paint a wishy-w𒀰ashy picture that doesn't ꦫreally illustrate anything meaningful. Here are the results:

Mad Lions are in first place, but they've lost to G2 Esports. G2 may have beaten Mad Lions, but they've lost to Origen, SK Gaming and Vitality. Origen may have beaten G2, but they lost to🔜 Mad Lions, Misfits and SK. Misfits may have beaten Origen, but they've lost to Fnatic, Rouge and SK. Fnatic may have beaten Misfits, but they've lost to G2, Mad Lions, Origen and Rouge. Rouge may have beaten Fnatic, but they've lost to G2 and Mad Lions.

If that all sounds complicated, that's because it is, very much so. The top six or seven teams are basically just a giant mumble-jumble and everyone is confused🧸 as to who the top team truly is.

3. Mad Lions are paving the way for young teams everywhere.

via Riot Games

Although the top team is up for debate, Mad Lions are currently the best performing team in European League of Legends. Just a split ago, they were a group of five rookies, and ꦚthey've since transformed into potentially the most synchronous team in the LEC.

The young team finished last split in third place, and are well on their way to another great finish this summer. In the past two weeks, Mad Lio🍌ns have had impressive victories against Fnatic, Origen and Rouge, the latter most earning them the exclusive first place spot in the standings.

Jungler Zhiqiang "Shad0w" Zhao, who is often criticized for having a small champion pool, brought out Ivern this past week, the champion's first time in the LEC this split. Shad0w had a fantastic game going 2/0/7 in an impo💎rtant game against Rouge.

In the same matchup against Rouge, Mad Lions purposely let through Varus, who has essentially been a global perma-ban in League of Legends as of late. Mad Lions then immediately locked in Senna and Wukong as their bot lane. They🧜 smashed the Varus-led Rouge, with Matyáš "Carrzy" Orság going 2/1/7 on Senna and Norman "Kaiser" Kaiser going 3/0/6 on Wukong.

Mad Lions' innovation in their drafts and their well balanced te♏am fights have made them one of the premier organizations in Europe, and a model franchise that teams around the globe (mainly North America) should look up to.

4. Aphelios weaknesses are emerging.

via League of Legends

The champion who is often associated with "200 years" has been facing some adversity as of late. As one of the most heavily contested champions in the meta currently, Apehlios has gone 2-6 in its last 8 games i🌳n the LEC.

Ezeal was initially seen as the champion's strongest counter, but many teams have recently opted for the Kalista matchup. Kalista currently has a 5-3 record against Aphelios in Eur🅰ope, and many talented AD carries such as Luka "Perkz" Perković and 🍸Martin "Rekkles" Larsson have lost to Kalista while on Aphelios.

No one is doubting how much damage Aphelios can output, but many teams are finally starting to see the weaknesses surrounding the champion. Aphelios can wreak havoc on an enemy team at any given moment, but playing a❀round his damage, and killing him when he has the wrong guns out given the situation seems to be the way to win against it.

5.  Just how strong is Volibear?

via Riot Games

Volibear's rework has officially brought him to the forefront of the global League of Legends meta. But just how strong is the bear?

Teams picking Volibear have the ability to flex the champi🙈on top or jungle, which will always add strength to the pick through versatility. But Volibear has only gone top twice in the LEC, and it has a 1-1 record in the top lane. In the jungle, the recently reworked champion has gone 3-3 and has looked inconsistent at times.

Volibear's strengths become apparent as an aggressive, all-in-type champion. If hiඣs team is not🍃 on the same page as him, his all-in dives become problematic, and can lose his team the game. Teams need to be careful when picking Volibear, as he's not a champion that belongs in every team composition.

The LEC continues ✃on Friday July 3rd, with Vitality vs. Excel leading the slate of𓆏 Week 4 matchups.
