Although our hopes for a Left 4 Dead 3 have been dashed, Valve has not necessarily forgotten about the series. Community mods and ideas have received a lot of love from Valve, and have paved the way for exciting new ways to reimagine existing games in the franchise. This could potentially explain the reasoning 🅷for Valve's recent announcement that Left 4 Dead 2 would be receiving aౠ surprise update for the first time in 11 years.

It Really Has Been 11 Years Since Left 4 Dead 2's Release

The trailer above was quietly released on August 26th by user JAiZ, and it looked like a promising mod that would place us back into the world of Left 4 Dead 2. We only see a quick overview of the map we will play, and it looks to be an eerie forest with a lighthouse by a cliff. The𝓰 map is similar to one seen in Left 4 Dead, but this may be deceiving.

It's worth noting that users on Reddit have quickly🔴 pointed out that this update is being officially by Valve. Likewise, while the map may seem like a port to some, the fact that numerous community members are working on the project makes us think that there is a lot more to be revealed.

The new campaign has the potential to be an exciting and 🌌unique experience that can hopefully flesh out the canon of Left 4 Dead. No other details have been released at the time of writing, but further announcements are set to be revealed in the near future.
