Fans have always made quick work of solving and ✨debunking some ๊mysteries and myths, but some persist to this day. Sometimes, new games answer old questions, but they can also introduce new ones. Through hard work deciphering in-game languages and quotes from characters, with some help from series producers and developers, fans have solved many mysteries. Here are some of the best, and some that still haven't been figured out.

10 🅺 Solved - Rito and Zoras

via the-toast.net

When the Wind Waker first released in 2002, it was met with some criticism and some love. The new cel-shaded graphics were controversial, and they brought a new feeling to the series that had🉐n't been seen before. Along with this, Wind Waker also introduced🎃 us to the Rito, a race of flying bird-like people.

Fans speculated that these avian beings were somehow connected to the res♚t of the Zelda lore from past games. After some time, Eiji Anouma, the series' producer confirmed t🧸hat the Rito evolved from the Zoras after the Great Flood.

9 Unsolved - Rito and Zoras in Breath of the Wild 💫

While the Wind Waker's Rito may be confirmed to have evolved from the Zoras of older games, they both appear in Breath of the Wild. Not only do they appear, but they are also both thriving races. If the ܫRito evolved from the Zora, why are there still Zora living basically next door?

Breath of the Wild's placement in the Zelda timeline is stilജl unknown (spoiler alert), so there could be some explanation for this that the developers are keeping from us. But as of now, there doesn't seem to be an explanation for these neighbors coexisting.

8 So♚lved - Ganon's Cre♏ation

via: devilmaou.wikia.com

Throughout the past few decades, players have helped Zelda and Link defeat Ganon countless times. But, why does he 🥀keep coming back? Where did he come from originally? Many wondered how it was that this demon king could continuously return to plague Hyrule (and other worlds as well) seemingly forever.

Luckily, Skyward Sword cleared this 🧸(and much more) up with its story. Demise, a demon who wished to make the world his own, promised that his spirit would live on forever, and keep being reborn forever. It's believed this is what Ganon was born from, returning over and over to terrorize the world.

7 🅷 Unsolved - Hand in the Toilet

We finally got an answer for🙈 one mysterious character in the story of Demise, but another mysterious character's origin is still unsolved. In Majora's Mask, Link can stumble upon a strange hand sticking out of a toilet in an inn. He is asked for a piece of paper and gives a piece of heart in return.

The hand reappeared in Oracle o🐬f Ages, asking again for paper. Who is this strange being? We are never given an answer, and the hand's "name" on its textꦚ box is just "???" Another hand returns to the toilet in  but is named and seen in full — a ghost named Phoeni.

6 ౠ Sol🦋ved - The Master Sword

Throughout the ages, the reincarnations of Link and Zel💦da have used the Master Sword to seemingly banish Ganon for good, sealing him away in anotheღr realm. This sword is referred to as the blade of evil's bane and can apparently defeat a great evil with its swing.

But, where did the Master Sword come from? Why is it so powerful? Luckily, in Skyward Sword, we got an answer. The incarnat𓂃ion of Link in this game imbued three sacred flames into the Goddess Sword created by the goddess Hylia, ultimately creating the Master Sword.

5 Unsolved - Beyond🔯 the Canyons

Hyrule seems to always be mostly self-contained with no bordering countries or regions, save for a few places here and there scattered throughout the games. But, in Breath of the Wild, the player can visibly see an entirely separate world outs𓆉ide of the main body♛ of Hyrule. 🅘These other places are separated from Hyrule by a long, deep canyon, but they clearly exist.

What are these places? Perhaps they are other countries that Hyrule has little cont💙act with, or maybe they're barren wastelands. It's unknown if Breath of the Wild's sequel will answer this, but hopefully it will.

A long, widely-held belief is tha🌳t Link is dead in Majora's Mask. According to this theory, which may have been originally perpetuated by MatPat from Game Theory on YouTube, Link dies at the end of Ocarina of Time and is in purgatory as he explores Termina.

But, this theory has been debunked. Hᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚyrule Historia, the official guide to Zelda's canon, confirms that Termina is actually a parallel world, not purgatory. Furthermore, Link i꧃s shown back in Hyrule's Lost Woods at the end of the game, alive.

3 ⛎ ♚ Unsolved - The Masks

Speaking of Majora's Mask, where did the mask itself come from? And the other masks in the game? These face masks contain immense power 𒐪and often come with destructive results. Majora's Mask itself is imbued with so much evil that it allows the Skuꦰll Kid to wreak havoc across Termina.

The Fierce Deity's Mask is another example. Who is this deity and why is its mask able to transform Link? It's said that Majora's Mask was created by an ancient tribe, but this fails to explain the other masks in the game, or those in Ocarina of Time.

2 The Timeline 🙈

It's widely known that players of the Zelda games trꦛied for years to determine a connecting timeline between all of the games. After many years, it was determined that there was a split timeline that occurred after the results of Ocarina of Time, separating it into two parallel histories.

In Hyrule Historia, the missing pieces were finally linked. There were actually 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:three split timelines after Ocarina, one where Link lives on as a child, one where Link lives on as an adult but Ganon wins, and one wℱ𒆙here Ganon loses.

1 🥂 Breath of the Wild in the Timeline ⛄

We finally received clarity that there were three timelines after Ocarina, putting to rest years of deba🦋te and ultimately settling countless questions. But, with the release of Breath of the Wild, new questions have arisen. Most notably, where does Breath of the Wild fit in the timeline?

There are similarities between BOTW and games from each branch of the split timeline, and references or items from games that don't exist in the same universe. Some believe BOTW isn't meant to fit into the t🍌imeline at all, while others continue to try to crack this mystery. Maybe the sequel will give us some ansﷺwers.
