For just a moment, let us all go back to when we were kids. It’s a rainy autumn Saturday morning and it’s much too cold for us to be told to go play outside with the other kids. No, today is an inside day. So we get our bowl of cereal, walk into the living room, wrap ourselves up in our favorite blanket, and prep the GameCube for playtime. The Legend of Zelda theme fills the living r🦄oom and the next few hours of our lives will be entirely consumed by trying our best to help Link on his quest. There is a notebook filled with cheats our friends told us about beside us and we are ready to unlock everyth𓆏ing we can before our mom tells us to get off the television.

Ah, what a lovely memory. One of the best things about playing games as a child was that list of cheats, unlockables, hidden items, and secrets that guided players through their favorite games. Well, I am here to act as that list. No longer will the people of the internet have to scroll through dozens of walkthroughs, watch hundreds of let’s plays with breathy commentators, or rent those game guides from the local GameStop. For I am here to provide the gamers of the internet with an amalgamated version of that precious information. So, without further ado, here are 25 tips and tricks that will help you navigate the cartoony and colorful world of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

25 🐠 Save Room For Secꦡonds

via: youtube.com

I have always been someone who could reread books, rewatch films, and replay games until the power went out, without boredom. But very few games are built with replayability in mind. Except for Wind Waker, that is. In fact, there are several f🉐eatures and unlockables hidden within the game that remain completely inaccessible until a player's second pass through the story. When you finish your first playthrough, a special save slot will open up for you. Using that save slot will allow you to play the unlocked version of the game: complete 🌟with extra outfits, skills, and interacts for Link to use on his travels.

If you’re a nature loving person like me, you will be delighted to know that you can heal those poor withered trees that are littered throughout Wind Waker. In fact, doing so will activate the Korok Tree Spirit Quest, granted you have some bottles handy. What you have to do is fill those bottles up with spring water from Forest Haven and use it to revive each and every one of those withered trees. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with a piece of heart♌ for your troubles.

22 ꩲ Defeat Th♉e Big Octos

Via Portforward

I’m not the biggest fan of taking down the big and beautiful creatures of the deep, but taking down those Big Octos wil﷽l give both Link and the person controlling him a lovely reward, so it’s unfortunately necessary. There are six of these delightful ocean creatures scattered throughout the game and defeating each and every one of them will pꦓrovide Link with beautiful and worthwhile rewards. This Big Octos can be found in The Seven Star Isles, near Tingle Island, by the Fire Mountain, at the Private Oasis, off the shore of the Diamond Steppe Island, and at the Two-Eye Reef.

Travelling through the numerous worlds that exist in the Zelda games in order to collect and gather each individual item can be both incredibly fun and taxing. But you know what would be so much more fun? If you knew exactly where each and every single item you were looking for was before you even pressed Start. There are 10 charts that are hidden throughout the game () and here are the locations of a select few, just for you. The Ghost Ship Chart can be found inside a hidden hole under Diamond Steppe Island. The Great Fa🔥iry Chart can be found in Treasure Chest #41 while the Light Ring Chart can be found in Treasure Chest #21.

20 Unstoppable Pigs 🐠

Via Cubed Gamer

Neither Link nor the animals of the Zelda worlds are particularly fond of each other. But the pigs of Wind Waker are occupying a whole nother world of anti-Link fueled aggression. Because this time, the pigs can fight back. If Link is as bold (or as dim-witted) to pick on a pig numerous times all of the other pigs in that area will come to their friend's defense. The pigs will continue on this rampage until they are lead to a body of water or Link 𝓰has the good sense to take a hike and leave their area entirely.

18 𓄧 Time Controls The Sky

Via BlazeKick

Okay, this one is really cool. Are🥀 you ready for it? It turns out that the sky which hovers above Link throughout the game can and will change to reflect the internal clock of the GameCube. If the game is played during what the GameCube has determined as daylight hours then the in-game sky will reflect that and players will ge💟t to enjoy a lovely light blue sky. If you choose to sneak a game at night, you will be greeted with a delightfully dark and starry landscape.

Sailing can be tremendously hard work. What if there was a sail that detected and accounted for changes in wind powers for you? That way, you could just lay back and enjoy t🌊he ride? The thing that you are looking for, my friend, is called the ‘Swift Sail’ and it can be won at the Auction House after the Dragon Roost Cavern has been completed. Pro Tip: Bid at least 10% higher than the current highest bid every 10 or so seconds until the Auction is over. It won’t guarantee that the sail falls into your hands but it will greatly increase your chances.
