Over the past 34 years (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:almost 35!), there have been countless Zelda items introduced across all of the series' many games. Aside from the typical sword, shield, and bow, Link (and others) are able to wield a variety of different items, some of which are used in combat, some for puzzles, and some for other pur𒁏poses altogether.
Many items appear in several games and are , like the Boomerang or the Hammer. But, there are also some items that are just downright t🍰errible or severely nerfed by the games they are in. Here are some of the worst items in the Zelda series.
10 ꦑ Dominion Rod 🐲
Twilight Princess introduced several new items to the series, shaking up the standard host of familiar faces. The Ball a𝄹nd Chain, Double Clawshot, and Spinner are some of the most famous. However, there is a notorious item from this iteration of Hyrule that is widely condemned by fans: the Dominion Rod.
This strange item allows the user to control statues. For the most part, it's used to make statues weigh down switches, which could be done in past games by simply moving them with your hands. On top of this, there's a tedious quest involving restoring the Rod's power and using it to move around some statues around Hyrule. All around, this item is better saved 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:for part of Zelda's arsenal in Hyrule Warriors.
9 H🧸over Boots
One of the coolest items introduced in Ocarina of Time is also one of the most disappointed. The Hover Boots, found in the Shadow Temple, allow Link t🔴o hover slightly for a moment over gaps, Looney Tunes-style.
However, the boots have very limited use in the game. On top of their rare moment to shine, they make Link slip and slide all over the place, and they have to be equipped in the START menu rather than mapped to the C-Button. This would be fixed in the 3ﷺD remake, but they still kiಌnd of suck, regardless.
8 Magic෴ Armor ✤
Appearing in both The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, the Magic Armor is one of the most appealing, yet ultimately disappointing items in the series. The premise seems great — you're invincible. There's a catch though. In The Wind Waker's HD remake and Twilight Princess, the armor drains Link's rupees at a slow rate and an even fa﷽ster rate💮 when he is hit.
The problem here is that rupees are much more valuable and harder to find than health, which is recovered in a variety of ways pretty easily. It 🔯can be a nice last-ditch move in a boss fight, but the Magic Armor is otherwise just for fun more than functionality.
7 Bait
Like the Magic Armor, Bait has appeared in a couple of games over the years. In some games, like The Wind Waker, bait can be pretty useful. However, in the original Legend of Zelda, bait is incredibly disappointing. It can be used to attract enemies, distracting them for a momen✨t so Link can move in fo꧙r the kill.
Unfor⭕tunately, it only works on easier en൩emies, which are already fairly easy to defeat. If it worked on tougher enemies, it might have more use. Otherwise, its only real use is to lure Goriyas out of the way of some dungeon room entrances.
6 Hestu's Gift 👍
One of the longest and most tedious quests in video game history is the collection of all 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:900 Korok Seeds in Breath of the Wild. These small forest creatures are hidden almost everywhere, and collecting all ♑of their seeds is a near-impossible task for many to even consider tackling.
Once every seed is collected, they can be brought to Hestu for a final reward. That reward? Hestu's Gift, which is a useless item that168澳洲幸运5开奖网: is all-but-said to be Hestu's poop.
5 Fierce Deity Mask ♉
Sometimes items themselves aren't bad, but the situational use they have is bad, or at least incredibly disappointing. Such is the case for the Fierce Deity Mask, the final mask obtained in Majora's Mask. It's🐟 extremely time-consuming to get, and then it can only be used in one instance.
The player will 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:need to𝓰 collect all twenty non-transforming masks throughout the game, then trade them in to the strange children on the Moon. It can only be used in boss battles. It's incredibly disappointing, as it's one of the coolest items and it can 🎃only be used for a moment.
4 Step🅰ladder
Players of Hyrule Warriors mig✃ht see one of the unlockable weapons f꧑or Sheik, the Stepladder, and think "what in the world is this?" Well, it's from the original Legend of Zelda, where it's a key item in traversing the world.
The Stepladder is used to travel across gaps or single tiles of water or lava. Link simply puts it down as he walks over these tiles, and it appears below him. It's useful in the game, because it was ma🦋de to be, but it's otherwise kind of dumb.
3 Slingshot
Imagine an item that fires a weak projectile and doesn't do a ton of damage. Now imagine that item is almost always replaced shortly🥀 after it's obtained by something much stronger and more useful.
This is the story of the sad, sad Slingshot. This item is frequently replaced by the Bow and Arrow, rendering it entirely useless. It does 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:see some use for Child Link in Ocarina of Time, as he can't use the Bow, but these instances are few and far between. In most caꦑses across the series, just use the Bow.
2 Deku Nuts
Speaking of Child Link — he has at his disposal anotheꦆr item that is somewhat unused on a wide scale after the first few minutes of the game: Deku💫 Nuts. These items are mostly used to stun or harm enemies, and appear in a few games.
Their main function is to fill one of your C-slots in Ocarina of Time until you get something better. They serve as a fun projectile you can drop while flying as Deku Link in Majora's Mask, but they're otherwise pretty forgotten.
1 Telescope
This item is so useless that many people probably forget it even exists. The Telescope in The Wind Waker is given to Link by his younger sᩚ♚ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚister Aryll and is only used once to advance gameplay: to witness the Helmaroc King kidnapping Tetra.
Other than that, it isn't 🌃necessary at any point in the game. It can be used to look at things far away, but it's not absolutely necessary. Sorryܫ, Aryll, but you can have it back. Thanks though!
