There are few other duos in video game history as iconic as the valiant hero, Link, and the princess of Hyrule, Zelda. On the surface, their relationship holds very little negativity, even getting close to wandering into romantic territory in Skyward Sword. These ܫtwo have been fated to cross paths for over almost 35 years now, essentially making them an old married couple a🌳t this point.
However, delving a bit deeper into the interactions between these two shows some mo🥃ments where they've made questionable decisions, or had no other choice but to do something shady to the other.
10 🎐 9𒅌0% Of Breath of the Wild
During your trek through the massive, post-apocalyptic Hyru♔le, have you ever stopped to collect a few🔥 Korok Seeds or spend hours playing around with various runes? Well, if Link truly cared about Zelda and wanted to save her as quickly as possible, maybe he wouldn't spend so much time cooking up entire inventories full of apples for fun.
Zelda has already been waiting for an entire century in the clutches of Calamity Ganon, so the least that Li🐲nk could do is have a bit more urgency. Although, this begs the question of whether or not Link has free will when being controlled by the playe✤r, so we'll stop here before getting a little too meta.
9 🌞 Almost Killing Link
If Zelda hadn't acted just a few seconds sooner, Skyward Sword would likely be the shortest Zelda game in history, and speedrunners would absolutely flock to it. In preparation for the Wing Ceremony, Zelda decides to give Link a helping hand off of the floating islanဣd to land on his Loftwing.
But, as is found out afterward, Link's Loftwing had been captured by Groose and his posse, so Link would have plummeted into the surface without Zelda's aid. The most remarkable thing about this entire situation is that, despite almost meeting his Demise about 40 hours too early, Li⭕nk sti💯ll keeps his cool.
8 Horseback 💝Ganondorf Fight
During the multi-phase boss fight against Ganondorf at the end of Twilight Princess, Zelda decides to take things into her own hands and assist Link during the horseback section of the fight. With the Bow of Light in ha꧂nd, she makes Link's archery look wimpy while she picks off Ganondorf with holy arrows with ease.
Even if he's tired from the previous phases, Link surely isn't pulling his weight here, as Ganondorf can knock him clean off of Epona and leave Zelda wide open. This isn't even the worst part, however, as Zelda is able to stay on Epona with the strength of her godly thighs a🧸lone while Link eats dirt in Hyrule Field. Pathetic.
7 Disguising as Sheik ⛦
Zelda surely didn't do this to Link out of malintent, as she really did🦄n't have a choice during the seven-year period following the downfall of Hyrule. To successfully hide from Ganondorf for seven whole years, she disguised herself as a wandering Sheikah and proceeded to aid Link while he collected the medallions.
Link must have gotten pretty lonely while tryin♋g to save Hyrule and all, and it must have been equally as difficult for Zelda to keep herself hidden from him for so long. A trul🔯y unfortunate set of circumstances this might be, but it made for a heartwarming reunion at the end of the adventure.
6 Sleeping Thr💟ough A Date
As we've seen throughout the series, Link is quite the opposite of a morning person, tending to sleep in despite important events like his own birt🌺hday, or in this case, the Wing Ceremony. Without Zelda's Loftwing to spit her letter in his face, 💫he probably would have slept through the whole thing.
Zelda actually planned on them meeting up bef🦄ore the ceremony started, and she went out of her way to write him a nice letter to wake him up. Not even waking up to go on a date with Zelda? Come on, Link.
5 🃏 A Bitterswee🍌t End
Even if Link spent way too much time goofing off during the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:main story of Breath of the Wild, he still fought his heart out to save Princess Zelda, especially if he ran over to Hyrule Castle right after leaving the Great Plateau. If L💝ink ran over t🔴o the castle half-naked while frantically running around and collecting weapons to fight five versions of Ganon in a row, you'd think Zelda would be a bit more appreciative.
The normal ending for the game makes a bit more sense,🦄 where Zelda asks if Link really remembers her from not collecting all of the memories. But, in the secret ending where Link does collect all the memories, Zelda doesn't even give Link a simple hug. Now that's roughꩲ.
4 𒆙 A Pricey Glutton ♓
This instance comes from the manga series by Akira Himekawa. In book 1, Link leaves Kokiri Forest and arrives at Hyrule Castle, simply dumbfounded by the scale of the world and the bustling Castle Town. Since Link is n💙o longer a silent protagonist here, we get a little more info on just how he'd act i🌌n this situation.
Link, being the growing boy he is, stuffs his face with local delicacies without a care in the world. He exclaims that he doesn't know what money is, even though there's a shop in Kokiri Forest that uses the exact same 🍸currency, and he was REQUIRED to buy a Deku Shield for 40 Rupees. Zelda has to come in and save the day with her royal allowance, or Link would have to spend his whole day cutting down tons of grass and pots.
3 Ready Thꦍe ꦚCannons
After Link makes the difficult decision to leave his ho✨me island of Outset to rescue his little sister 💎from Ganondorf, he gets help from the reluctant pirate, Tetra. Once they reach the Forsaken Fortress where Aryll is being kept, they notice that it would be impossible to infiltrate by normal means.
Tetra, later found out to be Princess Zelda, has the bright idea to stick Link's frail, child body into a literal cannon and fire♒ him from an extreme distance into a concrete wall. Granted, she was aiming for the window, but she's lucky that Link didn't die upon contact with the wall and sink into the ocean below.
2 ꦓ Well, Excuse Me, Princess! ♕
While many fans would like to forget about the existence of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this cartoon, there's✤ no forgetting the absolute audacity of Link in🎶 this show. While he does spend a lot of his time doing heroic deeds for the better of Princess Zelda and Hyrule, he needs to learn that no means no.
Even with the constant attempts of Zelda trying to tell Link that she does NOT want to kiss him, this himbo has an agenda to win the lips of this princess no matter what. Every second of Link's life is smooching t💮ime, which really doesn't paint a pretty picture of the hero of Hyrule.
1 🌞 🎃 Stealing The Spotlight
Older people and clueless gamers alike consistently 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:mistake🉐 our co🐲urageous hero for the princess, and Link has absolutely no control over it. Naming a story-based franchise after ♋its protagonist is an extremely common phenomenon, seen with plenty of other Nintendo franchises like Mario or Kirby.
But, just as Samus is sick and tired of people calling her "Metroid", Link is more often than not mistaken for he princess due to the name of the series. Thi𒊎s was especially worse in older titles, as Li𝕴nk didn't have a canon name inside of the games themselves, and was instead named by the player.
