Though Norra was first shown in the Beyond the Bandlewood expansion trailer, she was not made into a champion card until the Awakening expansion a year later. Initially shown to be one of Teemo’s scouts, Norra has officially become her own person (or her own Yordle, rather) in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Legends of Runeterra with some pretty potent effects.
Like some other Yordle champion cards you may be familiar with, Norra primarily functions around a healthy dose of luck, so be prepౠared to be pleasantly surprised or remarkably let down when running her in your deck. Either way, let’s take a look at how you can build an effective deck around her.
Norra: Champion Overview
Norra is a one-attack, two-health unit with Elusive that costs two mana to play, and her evolution condition is the following: “You’ve summoned 6+ created allies.” Her mana cost-to-stats ratio is alright: nothing too spectacular and slightly below average, as an average ratio would have her with one more attack. That said, her Elusive keyword is more valuable than the extra attack in many situations, so it bala🀅nces out.
Norra can be leveled up out of play, giving you room to get more initial stat value when you play her. Also, when she strikes your opponent’s Nexus, she plants a Mysterious Portal randomly in the top four cards of your deck. When you draw a card that has one of these Mysterious Portals attached 🐬to it, you summon a free two or 🍃three-cost follower (if your board is full, a Fleeting copy of the follower is placed in your hand at zero mana).
Evolved Norra
As mentioned, Norra evolves once you’ve summoned six or more created allies, and this can occur while she’s not in play. That said, once she is all leveled up, she keeps all of her original effects, except your Mysterious Portals now summon followers costing four, five, six, or seven mana, as opposed to simple two꧑ to three mana costing followers.
Champion Spell
Norra’s champion spell is Norra’s Portalpalooza, which is a little costly at five mana. It randomly places two Mysterious Portals into the top four cards of your deck, then draws you one card. This is also a burst spell, allowing for a quick draw. And, if you&rsqu🦂o;re lu🌱cky, you have a fifty percent chance for a quick minion summon that can even help you out during a blocking phase if you’re down some units.
Norra’s champion spell is also its own spell, meaning you don’t need a Norra in your deck to draft up to three copies of Portalpalooza.
Deckbuilding Options
Due to the random nature of Norra’s Mysterious Portals, she can work pretty well in either a swarm deck, multi-regional deck, or a swarm multi-regional deck. On top of that, since she’s Elusive, she can be a very strong unit to h෴ave in an Elusive deck.
No matter what you opt for, what remains is her low base stats, so be sure to bring along some defensive spells to keep her alive. Unless, of course, you don’t want to draft a deck around her being a win condition. If that’s the case, and you just want to use her as a thorn in your opponent's side and have them waste resources on killing her, then that’s a viable strategy too, especially in swarming aggro decks.
Norra And Bard
Norra and Bard synergize well mainly due to their Boons (boons are cards that attach to another card in your deck and are activated, free of any mana charge when the card they’re attached to is drawn). Between Norra’s Mysterious Portals and Bards’ Chimes, there are going to be a lot of buffs going on when you draw your cards, allowing for some hefty swarm potential.
Bear in mind that the region of Bandle City doesn’t have all that many defeꦯnsive spells, making it easier for your opponent to kill Norra off on sight. As such, it may pay to hold off on putting her into play until you’ve triggered some Chimes on her to buff her stats up a bit.
Norra And Zoe
Norra and Zoe are paired up for a coupl𒊎e of reasons. First off, they’re both Elusive c𓂃hampions, making them inherently annoying to get rid of. Second, Targon offers a load of defensive spells, allowing you to keep either of these two champions alive (or both) as win conditions with greater ease.
Finally, this deck makes taking The Bandle Tree as yet another win condition quite appealing. Between the multi-regional followers this Landmark can summon itself and the multi-regional followers Norra’s Mysterious Portals can 📖summon, activating your Bandle Tree shouldn’t be too difficult. On top of that, all these different cards make it even easier to level up Zoe, as her evolution condition requires you to play ten differently-named cards.
Norra And Rumble (And Maybe Sion?)
Norra is with Rumble due to the nice number of Discard cards shared by both Bandle City and Noxus. More tempting are the discard cards that allow you to draw more cards, and the reason you want to draw more cards is simply that it will allow you to activate more𒀰 Mysterious Portals.
Also, cards like Yordle Portal and Arena Promoter offer you the opportunityꦛ to create cards without needing Norra in play to hit the enemy Nexus and send some Mysterious Portals in your deck.
Sion is an option here in lieu of one or two Rumbles because he is a great champion to run in discard decks, and you’re already running Noxus as the compl꧋ementary region to Bandle City, so it all works out pretty well. You can even skip out on Rumble altogether and stick three Sions into your ꦇdeck: it’s really up to you, as they are both strong options.
Norra And Lulu (And Maybe Poppy?)
Typically, a deck with Norra and Lulu will be an aggro deck and paired up with either Piltover or Noxus due to the number of low-costing spells and followers those regions have to complement a swarm deck. In this case, Norra is not necessarily a win condition.
Rather, she is mainly there for added pressure through her Mysterious Portals. Keeping her alive is not essential by any means: if anything, you want your opponent to waste their removal spells on her so that way your harder-hitting units can freely slap💦 their Nexus.
Subbing in Poppy in exchange for a Lulu or two isn’t a bad idea, as both can be equally effective in terms of growing your low-stat units. That said, Poppy is four mana, unlike Lulu, who’s three, which can sometimes cause you to lose some tempo, as she takes a little longer to get rolling than Lulu does. In the end, it's up to you, as both have their pros and cons.
General Playstyle
Being one of the lower costing champions in the game, with one 𒁏of the lowest base stats in the game too, playing her early on can be a tad risky. Chances are, your opponent has a two-damage spell to kill her off on tꦦurn two, especially if they’re aware of the chance that you’re probably trying to mulligan her.
If you suspect your opponent has one or two removal spells i🔯n their opening hand, play some other, disposable units before playing Norra to bait out those removal spells.
If you know Norra is your win condition, you’re going to want to pair her up with a region that lends itself to a more defensive playstyle. However, if your goal is just to swarm the board, be aggressive, and win before tu🎉rn eight, then keeping her alive is far less crucial, so feel free to skip out on defensive spells.
Closing Thoughts
Norra is a fairly flexible champion, as she can be put in aggro decks, midrange decks, or even control decks.
🦩Whichever is the case, just keep in mind what your win condition 🥂is so that way you know exactly how you should be utilizing Norra in your game.
