Ornn is one of the known primal gods of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Legends of Runeterra's icy lands of t𝄹he Freljord, and brother to Volibear and Anivia. Being the god of the forge, you can be sure he synergizes particularly well with the corresponding new keywords focused around Equipment.

Ornn is one of the champions introduced in the Awakening expansion and a late-game powerhouse. As such, he excels in midrange and control decks, but aggro decks can cause him some trouble if they are not properly handled. So, let’s take a look at the potential of this fiery primal god and how you can effectively build a deck ar🎃ound him.

Ornn: Champion Overview

Legends of Runeterra Ornn rank one card

Ornn is a four-attack, four-health unit with Tough that costs seven mana to play, and his evolution condition is the following: “An ally has struck for 10+ damage.” His mana cost-to-stats ratio is pretty bad, to say the least, as an ave📖rage ratio would set him at seven-ꦑattack, seven-health: a whopping three attack and health more than what he has.

Paying seven mana for his base stats is not worth it in any world, so it’s good that he can both level up out of play and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Equip weapons upon being played for no extra cost.

Ornn’s play effect provides him with a massive buff, as he Equips himself either with an exact copy of an allied unit’s Equipment, or, if you’re lacking an Equipped ally, he Equips the strongest Equipment from your hand. On top of that, his attack-effect Forges him twice, or in other words, gives his Equipment plus two attack and health. With all these self-buffing tools, it’s noꦺ wonder his base stats are as weak as ꦺthey are.

Evolved Ornn

As previously mentioned, to trigger Ornn’s evolution,𓄧 an ally needs only to strike for ten or more damage, and this can evolve Ornn without him even being in play. Once he has evolved, all of his base form effects carry forward, but he gains one additional effect: when he attacks, he summons a Spirit of the Ram with his stats to 🌳attack with him.

The Spirit of the Ram is an Ephemeral unit, meaning it dies after the first time it strikes or when the round ends, but don’t think this is a weak attack effect by any means. The Spirit of the Ram also has Overwhelm, so if Ornn is all buffed up, a unit that big with Overwhelm is scary whether it’s Ephemeral or not, and your opponent will hav❀e to deal with it accordingly.

Champion Spell

Ornn’s champion spell is Ornn’s Bellow’s Breath. This spell allows you to Forge an ally (any ally, it doesn’t have to be Ornn), deals one damage to all units, and then allows you to repeat this p⭕rocess once more. This doubles as a small wave-clear and a way to buff your minions. Plus, the one damage area-of-effect (AoE) won&rsqu🐷o;t bother Ornn at all because, his Tough negates it entirely.

Deckbuilding Options

Between Ornn’s mana cost and his ability to scale quite well into the late game, it stands to reason that Ornn is a champion for either midrange decks, or more preferably, late-game “one-turn-kill” (OTK) decks.

In no world is he good for early game decks of any kind, and that means you’ll need to bring some early game tools to deal with enemy aggro decks. After all, if you can’t make it through the early game, you won&r🍎squo;t be making use of Ornn or his Spirit of the Ram any time soon.

Furthermore, seeing that Ornn’s scaling potential is closely tied to how good the Equipment is in your deck, it certainly pays to put at least a little focℱus on running Weaponmasters in your deck.

Ornn And Braum

Legends of Runeterra Braum rank one card

The thinking behind pairing Ornn with Braum is that Braum excels at dealing with aggro decks, as he can soak up a lot of damage w⛦ith his six health and Regeneration.

That said, Braum, like Ornn, is a Freljordian champion𝓡, allowing you to choose what other region to bring into the fold. You can bring along some Targonian or Ionian cards if you want to be more defensive, or you can pick up some Demacian cards if you want to be a little more midrange-focused🍸.

Ornn And Jax

Legends of Runeterra Jax rank one card

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jax is a seamless fit with Ornn for two reasons. First, between the Improvisation and Forging of both him and his Weaponmasters, Jax complements Ornn’s own focus around Equipment very well. Second, Jax and his Weaponmasters are generally lowꦏ-costing units, allowing you to have some early to mid-game insurance so that you can survive to the late game where Ornn would be your finisher.

Bear in mind that an Ornn and Jax deck will usually play like a mid-range deck due to how many early to miꦰd-game tools it has through Jax and his Weaponmasters. So, don’t expect to be beating a full-on control deck unless you curve out and pressure them enough.

Ornn And Garen

Garen Legends of Runeterra

Ornn works well with Garen mainly because of Garen’s ability to Rally once leveled up.൩ On top of that, Demacia has a healthy balance of defensive and offensive cards to help protect and enable Ornn even more.

The goal here would simply be to buff up Ornn and get Garen all leveled up so that way you can threaten your opponent with Ornn’s Spirit of the Ram every turn because 💯you’ll be able to attack every turn.

Ornn And Nasus (And Maybe Kalista?)

Legends of Runeterra Nasus rank one card

Admittedly, this deck option may not be the strongest, but it certainly has the potential to be incredibly powerful. Since Nasus’ evolution condition is “I’ve struck for 10+ damage,” if you manage to level him up, you will also level up Ornn in the process, which means killing two birds with one stone.

Granted, Nasus and Ornn in the same deck means you will be very🦂 strong in the late game, and that you’ll need to bring along some cards to get you through the early and mid-game, which thankfully, both the Freljord and the Shadow Isles have plenty of.

Legends of Runeterra Kalista rank one card

Additionally, putting a Kalista in your deck (in lieu of either a Nasus or Ornn, but preferably Nasus) could not only give you another early game tool, but another late game tool. Kalista’s evolved attack effect has her summon an Ephemeral copy of the strongest dead 🍨allied follower from this game, which in the case of this ๊deck, would be Ornn’s Spirit of the Ram.

Honestly, you could even just have a deck with Ornn an🐈d Kalista with no Nasus at all: either works well in terms of having multiple late-game win conditions. Just 𒁏make sure you bulk up on lower-costing cards so you can make it to the late game.

General Playstyle

Legends of Runeterra split image of Ornn evolved and Spirit of the Ram cards

Ornn has very blatant synergies with cards focused around Equipment and Forge, which might seem a bit limiting, but there are enough ways to work with this in the game that it🦋’s really not all that bad. You don’t even need to have Jax (or Kayn) paired up with Ornn to allow for more Equipment based cards in your deck, seeing as there are plenty of supportive Freljord cards that do just that already, such as Weaponsmith’s Apprentice, Favored Artisan, Adept Weaponsmith, and Combat Cook.

With that in mind, Ornn should not be put in an aggro deck because aggro decks, if built well, will generally have won by the time playing Ornn is even feasible. Thus, with the generally low-costing nature of the Freljord Equipment-based cards, you can either focus more on a mid-range strategy that has you curving out well and winning before the late game has a chance to get rolling, or just run a one-turn-kill control deck, which is perfec🌱tly viable 𝓰with Freljord as one of your two regions, thanks to things like Feel the Rush.

Closing Thoughts

All in all, Ornn is a very clear win condition in himself, as long as he has a deck that supports him well. After all, if he doesn’t have any Equipment to Equip, he won’t be nearly as strong as he could be, and therefore, neither will his Spirit of the Ram. So, no matter what champion(s) and regions you꧟ 🔯choose to pair Ornn up with, just remember to include a healthy number of Equipment-based cards, as well as early game cards to help you survive the onslaughts of aggro decks.
