If you're having trouble figuring out where to start and what you need, don't worry, we've got you covered. We've🐟 put together everything you need to know about fishing in Lego Fortnite, so you can start adding fish to the menu.

How To Craft And Use A Fishing Rod

Just like many of your other tools and weapons, in order to start fishing you'll first need to craft a Fishing Rod.

Fishing Rods come in four different rarities: Uncommon, Common, Rare, and Epic. You'll start wi𓃲th the Uncommon Fishing Rod, but eventually, you'll want to upgrade so you can catch some higher-quality fish.

How To Craft A Fishing Rod

Crafting your first Fishing Rod is pretty simple. Just put some Cord, made from Vines in the Spinning Wheel, into your inventory to unlock the recipe.

You'll only need a few basic materials to craft this Fishing Rod, but the higher rarities will require more advanced crafting resources found in caves or other🔜 b൲iomes. You won't be able to craft those until you've progressed enough in the game to survive in those environments.

  • 3 Heavy Wool Thread
  • 3 Arctic Claw

Unfortunately, you will not be able to apply any Essences to your Fishing Rod at the Essence Table to increase durability, luck, or any other effects you may want. So make sure you keep the materials you'll need to be stocked, so you can keep crafting new Fishing Rods when they break.

How To Use A Fishing Rod

Go to any body of water (Oceans, Lakes, or Rivers) and equip the Fishing Rod like you would another weapon or tool. Face the water, then hold down the attack button to aim the Fishing Rod where you want it to go. Release to cast the🦋 fishing line 🌜into the water.

When the fish pulls on your line, hold down your attack button again to reel the fish in.

Sometimes you’ll catch non-fish items like sand shells, food, wood, etc... Every once in a while, you⛎’ll catch a Llama that you can open🎃 to receive random resources.

How To Craft And Fish With A Bait Bucket

One of the items you can craft with fish is a Bait Bucket, which can be used to create a swirling pool of fish in the water for you to fish from.

To craft a Bait Bucket, you will first need to build a Food Processor. If you have already built and used a Lumber Mill, you should have the build recipe for the Food P꧂rocessor in your build 🎉menu.

How To Build And Use A Food Processor

Building a Food Processor in Lego Fortnite

To build a Food Processor you'll need:

  • 8x Plank
  • 7x Bone
  • 3x Wooden Rod
  • 6x Granite

When you process the fish you catch through the Food Processor, you get Fish Fillet. This item can be put back through the Food Processor again to create the Uncommon Bait Bucket.

You can craft four different rarities of Bait Buckets. The higher the rarity (paired with a higher-quality Fishing Rod) gives you a greater chance of catching higher-quality fish, including Legendaries.

Once you have a Bait Bucket, equip it to your Quickbar. Then, throw the Bait Bucket into the water using your action button. Now, switch to your Fishing Rod an💎d aim it at the whirlpool of fish that the Bait Bucket created. Keep fishing from the whirlpool till it disappears.
