The world of the Lego Super Mario Bros. toy sets is growing, as eight expansions and character packs have b𒊎een announced that will add new stages and enemies to the game.
Lego Super Mario Bros. is an odd beast, as the Mario figure itself has BlueTooth functionality that allows it to react to different elements of the game. This means that Mario can yell when stepping on lava or shout in joy when finding a coin. This level of interactivity is built into the entire set, allowing kids to 📖play their own mini Lego Mario games.
The Adventures with Mario Starter Course set won't be released until ♏August, but Lego has already announced eight different ex🍒pansion sets that can be purchased from the official Lego . An announcement trailer for the sets has been uploaded to the official Nintendo YouTube set.
The eight sets include the Mario House & Yoshi Expansion Set, Boomer Bill Barrage Expansi❀on Set, and the Thwomp Drop Expansion Set. Lego fans can exp♛ect to spend around $49.99 for each expansion, with the largest set costing $99.99 and smaller kits running for $19.99.
It's alsಞo possible to purchase four separate Mario Power-Up sets, in order to let him turn into Builder Mario, Cat Mario, Fire Mario, and Propellor Mario. There are also $4.99 Character Packs that come in blind bags, which contain figures for ꩲcharacters like Blooper, Bob-Omb, and a Bullet Bill.
There is a lot of content planned for the Lego Super Mario Bros. sets and this is even before characters like Luigi or Princess Peach have been added to the game. Fans have been asking for an official Nintendo/Lego crossover for a while now and it seems both companies are going all-in with these new sets. The only question now is whether there will be more Super Mario Bros. worlds added to the Lego sets, or whether the company will go the Super Smash Bros. route and we'll see Lego based on other Nintendo franchises, like Star Fox or The Legend of Zelda in the future.
