We go ♚over each moon in Lethal Company and how t𒆙o handle them.

When you land on a moon where it's stormy, you're at risk of getting hit by wild, random strikes of lightning. What's worse is that ca🌊rrying metal items outdoors will attract lightning without fail. Luckily, there's a way to take your valuable metal scraps back to the ship while avoiding liꦦghtning strikes.

How To Check A Moon For Storms

To be fully prepared for your next trip to a new moon, you should first find out the moon's weather conditions during your visit.

To check the weather conditions of a moon, you'll need to use the terminal on your ship.

Access the terminal by hitting E on your keyboard while in front of it.

Upon booting up the terminal, you'll see a list of available menus. Type "moons" to see the list of available moons you can travel to.

Once you see the list of available moons, you'll also be able to see each of their current weather conditions beside their names. A stormy moon will have the word "Stormy" next to it.

You'll also see the weather conditions of a moon you're set to travel to by checking the screens above the ship's control panel. The name of the moon will be displayed, along with the population, conditions, fauna, and weather.

Apart from stormy weather, a moon can have other weather conditions:

Weather

Effect

Stormy

Metal items outdoors can attract lightning and may be struck after a few seconds of sparking.

Flooded

The moon will get increasingly more flooded, with routes eventually becoming impassible as the day progresses.

Foggy

The moon will be shrouded in fog. The fog can be light, heavy, or stinkclouds.

Light and heavy fog make it hard to see and navigate. Stinkclouds cause you to exhaust your stamina faster, and you'll eventually take damage.

Rainy

Moons in rainy weather will have several patches of quicksand on the ground. You can identify these patches by keeping an eye out for areas where the ground is a shade darker.

Eclipsed

Outdoor entities will spawn even during the day, and more entities will be present inside.

How To Carry Metal Items Outdoors During A Lightning Storm

A lot of metal items have high value, so it would be a shame to leave them behind in fear of getting struck by lightning. To stay safe while delivering your metal scraps to the ship, you just need some patience and quick thinking.

First, consider transporting your metal scraps one by one instead of in one go.

If you have friends with you, you can each carry a single metal scrap, so you can quickly put it down.

When you leave behind your metal scraps, don't leave them outside by any entrance. An unfortunate and unsuspecting crew mate might go th🦋rough that entrance and get struck should the item you left attract lightning.

Next, head back to the ship while carefully listening for sound cues.

If a lightning bolt is about to strike your metal scrap, it'll start making electric buzzing noises. You'll have a few moments to press G and put your item down before the lightning strikes the scrap.

While carrying your metal scrap to the ship, ensure you have it in your main hand.

You'll need to be able to drop it quickly, and if an item in your inventory is sparking, you may not receive the lightning strike warning.

Once your scrap is on the ground, back away a few meters. The lightning strike's damage is AOE (area of effect), and you'll get struck if you're too closꩲeꦺ to the metal scrap.

After the lightning strikes the metal scrap, wait a few seconds to see if there are still electr🐟ical buzzing noi🍷ses.

Lightning can strike it again, and the noises will be your indicator. If you don't hear it, you can safely pick your scrap up again and continue your trek back to the ship.

If a crewmate is heading back with you, it's better for you to walk a few meters apart so that you can avoid getting st🍎ruck by lightning targeting an item dropped by th🧸e other crew.

You'll need to be patient as your scrap will attract lightning several times before you make it back to the ship.

Once inside the ship, you don't have to worry about lightning hitting you or your metal scrap. Just make sure that you drop it inside the ship. The outdoor area of the ship is still a dangerꦗ zone when it comes to lighting.

A lightning striking the ship will cause the lights and monitors to switch off. Use the light switch or the power button on the monitor to turn them back on. You can also use a remote.

Since you'll probably be spending a lot of your time outside while you're taking your metal items back, it's best if you prioritize bringing them back before the other items, especially if their value is higher.

Also, once you get a high-value metal item, you should have someone bring it back immediately, especially when it's early in the day.

The moons tend to be more perilous at night, and you don't want to get stuck transporting your precious metal scraps while the moon's mobs are out and about.
