Summary
- Life is Strange: Double Exposure has had a lot of big questions to answer since it was confirmed to be bringing back Max.
- One of those questions is what happened to Max and Chloe for the latter not to appear in the story
- Double Exposure does answer that question, but fans really aren't happy with what it has to say.
fans really aren't happy about 's treatment of Chloe and its depicℱtion of what happened to the two of them after the events of the first game.
One of the biggest things that made the original Life is Strange stand out from the crowd (aside from its time-rewinding powers, of course) was its focus on the relationship between Max and♍ Chloe. While the two could just be best friends, it's generally agreed that they're one of gaming's best couples and are clearly set up to be m🌞ore than BFFs.

🐭 Should Life Is Strange Be About Max And Chloe Or Leave Them B🥃ehind?
Fans ♎have strong (and conflicting) feelings about Max and Chloe, and it would be tough for any developer to please them all.
With that in mind, Life is Strange: Double Exposure has had a massive weight on its shoulders from the moment it was first revealed to be bringing b🅰ack Max for another adventure. With Chloe nowhere in sight and the two massively different endings hanging over Max's head in the ten years that have passed since her time at Arcadia Bay, there were a lot of questions that needed to be answered.

If you explore Maꦐx's room, you can find a break-up letter that cites Max's inability to move on from the past as the reason, something Max backs up in a conversation with Safi.
While it is a shame that Max and Chloe split up, it does make sense considering everything that happened in the firs🌳t game and how traumatic that must have been for both of them.
Choosing to break up Max and Chloe after everything they went through in the first game has gone about as well as you'd expect with fans. Twitter, TikTok, and Reddit are all full of posts about the🅘 two's treatment and none of them seem particularly happy about it, , who called out Deck Nine for misunderstanding both characters.
