Joryu Singing Baka Mitai in Like a Dragon Gaiden

A staple of the Like A Dragon series, Karaoke is a rhythm minigame where you have to hit the cor🉐rect buttons in time to a beat. If you perform well enough, a cutscene will play during the song.

To perform well at Karaoke, it's most important to look ahead at what notes you will have to be hitting next and mentally prepare. It takes a bit of concentrating at multiple places at once.

Billiards

Like A Dragon Gaiden Billards first shot

Billiards (sometimes referred to as Pool) has two different variants. There are regular Billiards where you play traditional games, or the One-Shot Challenge where you will have to sink balls in one shot.

For Billiards, you can change your perspective to an overview shot and use the aim assist to help you get the proper angle on your shots to make sure the balls go in. Sometimes you can get lucky by slamming your ball into a pile, but it's generally better to use more precise shots to guarantee you can get your balls in before your opponent.

Pool Type

Rules

Nine-Ball

You must pocket the balls in order starting with 1 and ending with 9. Whoever pockets 9 fir༒st wins.

Rotation

You must pocket balls in order starting with 1 all the way to 15. You gain points equal to the number on the ball you pocketed. Whoever gets more than 61 points first wins. If no player exceeds 61 by the time all the🐠 balls are pocketed, they are racked again and play continues.

Eight-Ball

Balls are divided between solids (1-7) and stripes (9-15). Whoever sinks in a ball of a specific set first wil🧸l then try to pocket the rest of that set for the rest of the game (ex. if someone pockets the 1 ball they are solids and have to pocket in balls 2-6). A player must sink in all their balls before sinking the 8 ball in. You must call which hole you will pocket the 8 ball into. If it goes into another hole (or it is pocketed before you pocket your other balls) it is an automatic loss.

Four-Ball

There is one cue ball for each player and two object balls. You get points by striking your cue ball on two or more objects (this can include your opponent's ball). There are four corners, and if two object balls are there you can not hit more than one or it is a foul. It is also a foul if you let more than one object ball stay in a corner. First to a pre-determined score wins.

Billiards Location

Billiards is located inside the Kiss Shot Billiards & Bar building. Upon entering, t𒆙he pool table is in the center of the room, and you can play by talking to the employee and paying 800 yen.

Shogi

Like A Dragon Gaiden Shogi mid match

For those unfamiliar with Shogi, it is very similar to Chess (and the game is sometimes referred to as Japanese Chess). The goal of the game is to checkmate the other player's King to make it, so they cannot win no matter what they do - as if the King is ever taken by one of your pieces it will result in a loss.

Each piece is unique and has📖 its own movement pattern. There are three separate variants of Shogi that you can play.

Shogi Variant

Rules

Ranked Shohi follows the basic rule🍌s and will pit you against players of increasing skill as your rank goes up.

Challenge

Shogi Location

Shogi is available in the southeast part of the map, right around the corner from Akame's Hideout. It does not cost any yen to play Shogi.

Oichu-Kabu And Koi-Koi

Like A Dragon Gaiden Oichu-Kabu gameplay

Oichu-Kabu and Koi-Koi are both card game🔥s that play with two separate decks. Both are games built around maki💧ng the best hand possible to beat your opponent.

Unlike many other minigames, these two are purely luck-based, and little skills go into them. It's a matter of hoping the cards are drawn in your favor.

Game

Rules

Oichu-Kabu

The goal is to have a hand as close to 9 as possible. Four cards are dealt and each player takes turns choosing one and draws an extra. You have the option to either draw one more card or keep what you have. You then have to beat the dealer. If you are the dealer, then you can choose to play your hand against any players before you choose to draw a third card if you think your hand can beat someone else's as it is. If your hand exceeds 9, then only the last digit counts (for example, if you have 14 it would count as 4).

Koi-Koi

Koi-Koi is played with Hanafuda cards. You must match a c🥀ard in your hand with onᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚe on the table to take the card. You must build a hand of a plethora of special combinations to score points.

Oichu-Kabu And Koi-Koi Location

Oichu-Kabu and Koi-Koi are both located next to each other inside the Yotsudera Kaikan Gambling Hall. To enter, walk into the tunnel and make an immediate left, ✃then right at the end of the hall, then enter the last door on your right.

To💝 play, you must buy wooden tagไs from the receptionist to gamble with.

Alternatively, a Gambling Hall is also located at the Castle. The rules are the same as the one in Sotenbori.

Mahjong

Like A Dragon Gaiden Mahjong winning play

Mahjong makes a return for everyone's favorite tile minigame (and a completionist's nightmare). Mahjong is about forming hands to gain points.

Generally, you want four sets of threes ♛(either of the same tile or in a straight, such as 3, 4, and 5 tiles) and a pair of matching tiles. The value of the hꦇands depends on the type of tiles you have.

As a rule of thumb, if you can get a Dragon tile in your hand you will generally have a set hand. You can also declare a "riichi" when you only need one tile to win which will lock your hand in until either you win by drawing t🦋he tile n♑eeded or an opponent discards it.

One important thing to keep in mind is the tiles being discarded. If you 🎀are aiming to make one of your triplets and notice that one of the tiles you would need is discarded, it may be worth pivoting to something else as the likelihood of drawing 💞the needed tile is low.

It's also important to make sure you aren't wasting time chasing an impossible pair or triplet if too many of a certain tile are discarded - as once they are discarded you can not get them outside of the turn they are discarded.

Mahjong Location

Mahjong is located inside of Riichi Tower Mahjong. To enter, go inside the elevator underneath the Cafe and Bar Sauvage sign.

Once inside, there are four sepa🍎rate tables of varying difficulty levels. If you talk to the recep⛦tionist, you can enter Mahjong tournaments as well.

They are all betting games and mostly luck-based as there are no guarantees about what cards your opponents will have or what cards will showไ up.

Game

Rules

Blackjack

The goal of Blackjack is to get the sum of your cards as close to 21 as possib꧒le. If you go over, you "bust" and automatically lose. To win, you have to have a higher valuꦫe of cards than the dealer. The dealer has to draw until they have at least 16 and has to stop if they hit 17.

You can double down to double y๊our bet and get only one more card - best if you have a low number and cannot bust such as 10 or 11. You can also split your hand and play two separate ones if you draw two of the same numbers.

Poker

Poker has you betting chips against three other opponents and to win you need to hand with the most val💞ue. All hands consist of five cards, making the best possible hand with the five cards that all players share and the two in your hand.

The value of Poker hands are: Two Pair (two pairs of matching numbers) < Three Of A Kind (three of the same number) < Straight (five cards in ascending order: ex. 2,3,4,5,6) < Flush (five cardsꦓ of the same suit) < Full House (one pair and a three of a kind) < Four Of A Kไind (four cards of the same number) < Straight Flush (five cards in ascending order of the same suit) < Royal Flush (a straight starting with 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of the same suit).

You can obtain different dart🀅s that can make aiming easier.

Gamemode

Rules

Count-Up

The𝄹 simplest, Count-Up has both players start at zero and you earn points by hitting areas on the dartboard. The thin-colored segments will award you double and triple points, with the bullseye at the center awarding the most. The player with the most points after all rounds of play wins.

Center Count-Up

Same rules as regular Coun🅷t-Up, however, instead of having varying values all throughout the dartboard the center of the𒅌 dartboard will always award more points than shots further away from it.

'01

The goal is to lower your score all the way to zero. You must reach exactly zero points, and if you exceed then your score is reset to whatever it was before you threw the dart that put you over. Whoever reaches zero points fꦏirst wins. The starting score is determined at the sta🧸rt of the game.

Standard Cricket

Gain control of territories by getting three marks🍃 on that territory. Scoring a single earns one mark, a double earns two, and a triple earns all three. Once a territory is claimed with three marks no one can continue to score at that territory. Whoever has the most points at the end of play wins.

Darts Location

The dartboard is available inside the Coliseum Lobby to either side of the entrant to the Coliseum Reception doors. There are no differences between the two available machines and will cost 200 yen to play.
