Throughout all the scenarios in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Live A Live, there's a recurring theme of "evil." Specifically, the notion that true, world-threatening evil doesn't necessarily have to come from an outrageous supernatural origin (though that's certainly an option). Evil can spring forth at any time, in any place, and in any person, creature, or something else entirely.

The bosses of each of the game's chapters represent this enduring evil, born of hatred, grudges, warped ideals, or even primal instincts. To determine which of these monsters, metaphorical or literal, best embodies that evil, let's count them down. Please be aware that we'll be getting into major spoilers for Live 💙A Live. Please go play the game first; it took almost 30 years to come to the west, after all.

9 Odie O'Bright - Present Day

Odie O'Bright versus Masaru in Live A Live

At the bottom of our list, we have Odie O'Bright, a martial artist so obsessed with being the absolute strongest being in the world that he'll kill anyone who stands in his way. Unlike Masaru Takahara, who also wishes to be the strongest but still relishes competition, Odie has no desire to see his throne contested, which is why he kills 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:everyone he defeats to ensure his dominance.

Of course, given the short length of the Present Day chapter, we aren't introduced to Odie until the very end, which unfortunately doesn't give him much time to develop. Out of all the bosses, he is probably the least complex in nature.

8 ඣ Odeo - The Near𝐆 Future

Odeo versus Steel Giant in Live A Live

Odeo, also known as The Great Inko, is a bit of an outlier among the bosses because it isn't really a sapient being with its own impetus toward evil. Rather, Odeo is a vessel for the ambitions of Doctor Livingstill, Priest Unryu, and General Yamazaki, powered by the liquefied essence of 2,000 unfortunate souls.

While Odeo isn't much of an entity in itself, it does deserve some credit for its evil, as it represents the kind of malice that can spring forth when powerful individuals see no harm in using and discarding innocents. Also, it's the only boss you fight as a giant robot - which just kind of earns it bonus points by default.

7 ꦫ ODO - Prehistory

ODO versus Gori, Pogo, and Beru in Live A Live

The idea of a Tyrannosaurus Rex being an incarnation of "evil" might seem strange, but ODO's grudge actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Consider this: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:cavemen and dinosaurs aren't supposed to exist at the same time, so how is ODO here? Simple: ODO could be the very last dinosaur alive on the planet, relegated to the Kuu Tribe's sacrificial pit.

Imagine being an apex predator that can eat whatever it wants, whenever it wants, as it rules over the plains, only to end up in a deep pit and forced to subsist off the meager sacrifices provided by the very mammals who stole the world from you. ODO has every reason to absolutely despise humanity, even if it's not exactly conscious of it.

6 ꦬ O. Dio - The Wild West 𝓡

O. Dio versus The Sundown Kid and Mad Dog in Live A Live

O. Dio leads a gang of stragglers from Custer's 7th Armed Cavalry, an army platoon known for its particularly bloodthirsty tactics. For O. Dio and his men, conflict needs no justification; conflict is the justification in and of itself. It's only through war that these men find their purpose in life.

After his defeat at the hands of The Sundown Kid and Mad Dog, it's revealed that O. Dio isn't actually a member of the 7th, but rather its last surviving cavalry horse, suffused with the essence of platoon's bloodlust upon their mass death. Imagine the kind of hunger for violence that can create a grudge so powerful that it can completely transform an innocent animal.

5 OD-10 - The Distant Future ღ

OD-10 versus Cube in Live A Live

When the A.I. Decimus - original designation OD-10 - was created, it was given one directive: to ensure the harmony of the Cogito Ergo Sum. Unfortun꧒ately, humanity has never been the most harmonious species, leading to interpersonal conflicts aboard the ship that, in turn, affect its efficiency.

A machine like OD-10, particularly one without empathic learning capabilities like Cube, only sees things in binaries. OD-10 can't "fix" people, therefore its objective is constantly just out of reach. To exist in such a state is absolutely torturous, which is why it found a loophole: the Cogito Ergo Sum will be perfectly harmonious if the entire crew is dead. OD-10's malice is almost tragic, because it doesn't come from a place of strict hatred, but merely a desire to do what humanity itself made it to do.

4 ♌ Ou Di Wan Lee - Imperial China

Ou Di Wan Lee versus Hong in Live A Live

As the head of the School of the Indomitable Fist, Ou Di Wan Lee is almost a more fleshed-out version of Odie O'Bright. In his view, power is paramount over all other things, from camaraderie to family. As the strongest person in China, his authority must naturally be absolute.

This is why he sends his students to destroy the Earthen Heart school and kill 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its students after the Shifu defeats them. Any kind of dissent, be it physical or spiritual, must be swiftly and decisively dealt with in order to preserve Ou Di Wan Lee's authority, because that authority is the symbol of his unparalleled strength.

3 Ode Iou - Twilight Of Edo Japan 🐲 𝄹

Ode Iou as Gamahebi versus Oboromaru and The Prisoner in Live A Live

A power-hungry warlord with a reputation for cruelty and hedonism, Ode Iou seeks to obtain power for no other reason than entertainment. His regard for h𝐆umanity is so minimal, that the very idea of plunging Japan into unmitigated chaos and bloodshed sounds like a fun way to spend some time for him.

This is likely why all of Ode's highest-ranking generals are some manner of inhuman - be they a spirit, a demon, or a machine - and why he ultimately sheds his own humanity to become the monstrous Gamahebi. To Ode, humanity as a whole is nothing but a bunch of insects at his feet, his to toy with as his mood dictates.

2 ▨ ꧂ Streibough - The Middle Ages

streibough Cropped

Streibough is an outlier amongst all the other chapter bosses, as he's not an incarnation of the same precise hate that powers the others. Even so, he is still inexorably tied to that same hatred, which is ironic, because he probably views himself as a hero.

Streibough loved the princess, Alethea, and made that love clear to his friend Oersted, asking him to back off for his sake. Oersted, however, defeated him and claimed Alethea's hand in marriage. This sent Streibough spiraling, sparking off an elaborate plan to frame Oersted as a villain and claim the role of Alethea's rescuer. It was this first spark of furious jealousy that would ultimately endanger the entire world.

1 🐲 Odio, The Lord Of Dark - The Dominion Of Hate

Odio versus Lei, Akira, Oboromaru, and Masaru in Live A Live

Of course, the absolute pinnacle of evil throughout all of Live A Live couldn't be anyone but the progenitor of evil, the symbol of hatred himself, the Lord of Dark, Odio. Streibough's plan to frame Oersted worked a little too well, leaving the would-be hero without a home or ally in the entire world. Furious at being branded a monster after serving his role as a hero, Oersted assumed the derelict mantle of the Lord of Dark, brandishing its dark magic to inflict his hatred upon time and space.

It is from Oersted's original grudge that the curse of Odio springs forth, manifesting as every other boss in the game, even in a time before he existed. Even upon his defeat at the heroes' hands, Oersted warns that Odio's curse will never truly vanish. As long as the spark of hate exists in the hearts of man, there will always be evil. There will always be Odio.
