Marvel Entertainment has confirmed that Loki identifies as gender-fluid in the upcoming Disney+ series.

A brand new TV spot promoting the show features a snapshot of the TVA's (Time Vari🎃ance Authority) file on the God of Mischief, and defines Loki's sex as "FLUID". This makes Loki Laufeyson the first canonically trans character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The trickster, who has been played by Tom Hiddleston over the course of the MCU, is canonically bisexual and gender-fluid in the Marvel comics, w𝕴ith his shapeshifting ability allowing him t𝔍o transform into various female-identifying characters.

T♓om Hiddleston, who is an executive producer on the show, has also talked ab🥃out Loki's fluidity in the past during an with MCU co-star Elizabeth Olsen, explaining that his character is "ambiguous" and can be a "man or a woman".

Elsewhere it's been hint💦ed that the MCU's Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, is bisexual like in the comics, with fans hoping for an onscreen relationship between her and Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. Both Larson and Thompson have previously encouraged the on-screen relationship, with Captain Marvel's producer also ꦜacknowledging the fan request.

Loki i🔥s set to stream exclusively on Disney+ on June 9 and will star Tom Hiddleston, along with O༒wen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Wunmi Mosaku.
