A common practice in survival games is to hoard as many items as you can because you'll never know when you might run out of specific stuff or when you might need some items later. However, you will need to be wiser and smarter about which items to hoard.
That's because more than half of all the items in The Long Dark are usually in bad shape. A chaꦬracter who wears a low🐷-condition piece of clothing, for example, might as well be naked out in the cold because it offers little to no bonuses depending on the severity of its degradation.
