Lords Of The Fallen: Pieta, She Of Blessed Renewal Boss🍸 🧸Guide
First boss? More like first lesson!
While he is a big boy, literally, don't panic or worry because once you learn his attack pattern, he becomes easy to predict. As the saying goes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
The Spurned Progeny Attacks
The Spurned Progeny is a massive boss fought in a large arena, and it has two phases. The🎉 first phase is quite standard, but you need to pay close attention to the second phase.
With that being said, let's break down his attack patterns for you.
First Phase
In the first phase, the Spurned Progeny isn't much of a threat as it uses basic attacks.
When you're close to him, he might slam the ground with his body, which can knock you down.
He can also slam the ground with his fists two to three times, which can also knock you down. It's best to back away from these attacks, but if you're near his feet, circling behind him can avoid getting hit.
After those slams, he often summons fireballs to your position. They have a glowing mark on the ground before they explode, causing a small area of effect damage.
This can set your character on fire and inflict Ignite and usually comes in sets of two to three attacks. Dodge as soon as the glow animation finishes and stay away from the fire pool it leaves.
Sometimes, as a counterattack, he does a quick, wide sweep with his hand. It's tough to dodge due to its speed, so it's better to block it.
Speaking of Ignite attacks, he can also slam the ground to create a wide-spreading Ignite shockwave in the arena.
You can see his hand charging with fire before he slams the ground. The best way to avoid this is by dodging forward as soon as the shockwave gets close to you.
Second Phase
The Spurned Progeny's second phase is unpredictable. It can happen when he's only lost 30 percent of his health or sometimes when he's at half health. The reason 🌠for this is unknown, so keep thatᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ in mind.
Before discussing the second phase, it's important to understand that this area has several staircases leading to the second level of the arena where the second phase takes place.
You'll realize he's entering the second phase when he starts covering the first level with deadly lava. That's why we mentioned the stairs. When you see him spitting lava on the ground, quickly head to the nearest stairs and make your way up.
This phase brings new attack patterns involving a third hand coming out of his mouth, delivering powerful blows.
Let's start with the most dangerous one. He summons his third hand, charges a massive fire orb, and then it explodes into a blinding light. Although this attack is lethal, it takes him a moment to charge the fire orb, making it easy to avoid. Simply find cover, like standing behind a nearby wall or structure.
He has an attack that provides an excellent chance to strike him. When he slams the ground with either his right or left hand, you can easily dodge to either side. Right after the slam, you can land two to three hits.
Occasionally, the Spurned Progeny performs a sweep attack as a counter. Dodge t൲o the opposite side, 💯where he swings his hand.
Another opportunity to hit him is when he lowers his head to your level and spits his third arm at you three times.
You can dodge these by running or dodging, and after the third strike, his hand takes time to retract, allowing you to go for another two or three hits.
Remember the Ignite shockwave attack from the first phase? He does a similar move here with his third hand.
If you dodge it properly by moving forward, it creates another opening for a full combo, as his hand takes time to retract.
One annoying move he does is placing his third hand on the platform you're on and charging a fire orb to fill the platform with lava.
When you see him doing this, all you can do is move to another platform to either your right or left.
The Spurned Progeny Strategy
As you can gather from the attacks he has, the Spurned Progeny has several openings you can use to your advantage.
Once you enter the boss area, lock onto his right foot, which looks fiery, and rush in to land two to three attacks, then step back. He'll likely follow it by slamming the ground, which gives you another chance to close in, hit twice, and retreat.
Staying close to his right foot can help reduce the chances of him summoning 🦂fire orbs. If he does, make sure to dodge them as soon as the glowing animation finishes.
The first phase is quite straightforward. You can land a hit or two, wait for his slam attacks, and then strike again. He may perform the Ignite shockwave once or twice during this phase, but it's easy to dodge by moving forward.
The Spurned Progeny might enter the second phase after losing about a third of his health, but the timing can vary. When you see him start to fill the area with lava, rush toward one of the stairs and position yourself on one of the platforms available, where the real fight begins.
In the second phase, there are four key openings for landing hits, and you should focus on these.
Two of them occur when he slams the floor with either hand. Dodge to the side and then hit twice.
Sometimes, he'll follow this with a sweeping counterattack which you can only dodge, so keep that in mind.
When you see him summoning his third hand from his mouth and charging the orb, it's his deadly attack. Quickly take cover behind the nearest wall found on either side. Wait for him to finish this attack and return to the main platform to continue the f🍸ight.
While you're waiting, you can heal or prepare any consumables you need.
The two other openings to watch for, including when he performs the Ignite shockwave - dodge forward and hit his third hand.
The other opportunity is during his three-combo spits with his third arm, as mentioned before; dodge the first two, then strike after dodging the third.
If he fills the current platform with lava, just move to another one, and the lava will eventually clear from the previous platform, allowing you to return when needed.
When he's down to the last third of his health, the ground-floor lava will clear, and he'll focus on using only his deadly attack multiple times with a delay between each one of them.
Wait for him to perform it once🗹, go down, hit him, and then take cover as soon as you see him charging the orb.
That's about it; the fight is not as ugly as the Spurned Progeny looks. Most of his attacks offer great opportunities to strike, and the large boss arena allows you to retreat and heal as needed. His slow movements work in your favor, giving you time to plan yo💦ur moves.
