You could say Random is a strange place. Like how there are sentient dice, an obsession with card collecting (not too dissimilar to gamers obsessions with Gwent), and you know the rule wh🔯ere every 12 year old h꧂as to roll a die to determine their fate. Well, this is what happens to Odd when the Queen comes knocking at her door on her 12th birthday. Odd then goes to live with the Queen having to leave her younger sister Even behind.
But what if Even was taken instead of Odd? Would she be fated to live through the same events that Odd did after joining the Queen, or would she head down a different path? The entire game could've changed if Even was the older sister.
4 What's Next For The Queen?
During the final minutes of Lost In Random, the Queen buys time for Even and Odd to escape by protecting them fro꧙m theꦯ enemies ahead. The pair head towards the exit as Sixtopia crumbles around them, only narrowly escaping the chunk of rocks falling all around them.
There's no scene of the Queen escaping the wreckage but also no proof that she became trapped in the building. If the Queen did escape, what would that mean for her future? Would she try to make amends with the other residents of Random? Or go into hiding out of fear of being turned away from those she wronged?
3 ಌ Is The Game Part Satire?
"Random is fair," say the rulers of Random, but of course, they'd think that given they're the ones with all the luxuries, forcing everyone else into settling for scraps. Lost In Random plays out as a sort of dark comedy, but in the style of something you'd find in a Tim Burton feature, there are also many elements usually seen in satires. The dissection of the in-game characters and how segregated these different places are. 🅷The people with the most power get the flashiest privileges.
The story, characters, sub-plots, and even the general idea of 'randomness' feel like a total satire genre portrayal.
2 💮Which Poor Soul Has To Set Up The Board Games? ♐
It's a wonder anyone managed to set up these board games with how elaborate they are. Just think for a minute about how difficult it is to put together a desk a store marks as an "easy build." Whichever poor guard they keep forcing into making the board games must be having a pretty terrible week.
